Sorry guys, it may be "industry standard" to release "just enough" to juice pre-orders without actually getting to the details we want

But I'm not going to defend it or explain it away

It's crummy behavior on the user side with a specific goal

"separate folks from their money while they still have incomplete info ... usually to cover up shortcomings"

By all means.. pre-order away if you're excited! It's your money (non-refundable)

Most of the Clubhouse Reports came out post-launch, and detailed what the Clubhouse Passes had in them, or what updates they were making to the game. I think only the first two of them were out before the game released.

To be totally honest, they have already given more specifics with 2K25 than they did with 2K21 or 23 at the same point in the pre-release cycle. I mean, we already have a full list of courses and pros available at launch (and we know St Andrews is also coming in Season 2), and have "seen" what Evo Swing looks like and some new career mode adds, even if it's just a glimpse. With 2K23, the "gameplay trailer" showed more footage of influencers and celebs like The Miz and like zero gameplay.

Totally understand and agree with the feelings around how they market these games...I do think we get more info pre-launch, but it will be done in the slow burn style which we all dislike. Unfortunately, it is what it is, and in the mean time, we can discuss and speculate on these forums and elsewhere!

Pre-orders are absolutely refundable. I have it pre-ordered thru Best Buy. If information comes out and I'm no longer excited, then I'll cancel my pre-order and not be charged.

If you pre-order digitally, so long as you don't download the full game, you can get a refund on your pre-order.

You're not required to pre-order the game in order to buy it. Once the game releases there will be plenty of information (reviews, videos, etc..) for you to make a decision whether you want to purchase or not.

But the idea that they are "stealing" money from customers by forcing them to buy without complete information is absurd.

I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Similar here. I prefer physical discs and there is a Gamestop about 2 1/2 minutes from my house. I understand when others voice their reservations (no pun intended) about pre-ordering, but I prefer to do so because there's no downside for me--they'll give me my $5 back. I'm likely preordering the Standard Edition next week due to some improved graphics (no more noodle arms when hoisting a trophy) and the addition of Majors.

My apologies - you're right about physical ones -- I was only thinking digital

The digital pre-orders I've been burned on by them auto-downloading, which has soured me on it

It's pretty frustrating to me that all digitally acquired games aren't fully refundable for like "7 days" or something. It seems so inappropriately skewed to favor the seller. They can literally revoke digital licenses for software. There's no actual justifiable reason to not have a more consumer friendly return policy.

It's kind of bizarre, if not a little dystopian, that we had a better "demo software" situation before digital software was even a thing ... one would have expected (or hoped for) the total opposite.

I don’t get this board sometimes, but I keep coming back for Beach’s info (lol). But yesterday, I reached out to jbd by pm to clear the air and he replied which cleared the air even more. Knowing how Beach posts, I don’t think he had any bad intentions.

Definitely no ill will or bad intentions...I totally didn't see the post that was done in response, as I was a bit taken aback by being called out as "inappropriate" for sharing some 2K news, and didn't quite know how to react. Seems it was just bad timing and a misunderstanding. I had zero intention of causing anyone to feel bad because of a post I liked and a screenshot I shared of Tiger Woods' 2K25 attributes. I was just happy to have more details to offer up! :-)

But if those actions did cause any issues, I am truly sorry. I appreciate all who come around these parts and discuss these games, and don't want anyone to feel like they are not welcome. We are a small subset of a small group of gamers, and having a group of others who enjoy these games as much as we each do is really a great thing.

Anyway, I hope we're back to more 2K25 news here again very soon!

One interesting thing I noticed in TW's attributes is that there's no "Power" attribute.

I wonder if it's because he's a "Technician" archetype, and not a "Powerhouse"? Or if it's part of another attribute?

Also, "Technician" is a new archetype, it was not in 2K23.

I love TW but he’s nowhere near a 99 OVR at this point in his career lol

His player model, however, is looking incredible.

I stay out of the drama on OS but I feel confident in saying that 95% of the people here rely on you to provide golf information to this board… so please don’t stop anytime soon.

                            Cheers!

I am always happy to provide it...this pre-release time is the most exciting, since everything is unknown and we are left to speculate and debate what the final product will look like. Getting new info at this point, while annoying it comes out so slowly, does lead to huge anticipation of when the next little crumb drops!

The player model looks great...but those attributes seem like they are based on 2000's Tiger, for sure!

HAHA no kidding on his OVR rating. Probably needs to be rated somewhere in the 60's with potential to get to high 70's or so just due to age. But then again, if I were on the cover of a golf game and also the GOAT, pretty sure I could be 85 years old and would still demand a high OVR rating haha.

2K doing player rating reveals for this game is kind of silly to me lol. This isn't NBA or Madden (although it's dumb when they do it too), plus there aren't enough pros in the game to care about, let alone modes to use them in. Can't really do an UT/MyTeam mode either, not to give them any horrible ideas or anything
