    Expanded MyPLAYER Customization: With the most customizable MyPLAYER experience yet, the ability to customize body types and heights has been added, while the base number of head models per body type has increased from one to four. Players can now create multiple MyPLAYER builds, the number of hairstyles, facial and skin customization options has increased, and a larger variety of skin tones is available. Players can still choose from five archetypes: Powerhouse, Technician, Magician, Greenskeeper, and Sculptor. Each archetype has its starting attributes reflective of a specific playstyle, including the player’s base swing and putting mechanics. Players can further refine their MyPLAYER Builds through the overhauled Skills system, which now has dedicated Skill Trees for the following shot types: Tee, Approach, Recovery, Bunker and Green;

    Equipment Progression: PGA TOUR 2K25 introduces an all-new level-up and progression system for clubs and balls using Level Up Tokens, Fittings, and EvoTools. This new system evolves how players can shape their equipment to match and enhance their style of play, meaning the more a player uses a piece of equipment, the more it will level up. This is true of both clubs and balls, though they do differ slightly in the type of upgrade used to enhance a particular set of attributes. Players can also skirt the process of manually leveling up through play by using Level Up Tokens, which can be earned or purchased;

    MyCAREER Rounds: In MyCAREER, players can choose to start their journey in Q-School, on the Korn Ferry Tour, or by jumping directly into the PGA TOUR, with the goal to finish in the Top 70 and earn the spot in the playoffs to compete for the coveted FedEx Cup. But now, there are two options to play MyCAREER rounds in a shorter timeframe: Dynamic Rounds and Interactive Simulation. In Dynamic Rounds, only a section of the course is chosen for play so players can get through rounds quickly, and for Interactive Simulation, players can jump in and out of a round at any point to choose what holes they would like to play;

    EvoSwing: Realism is dialed up with the all-new EvoSwing mechanic for both Swing Stick and 3-Click Swing. Whether a player is new to the franchise or a seasoned veteran, EvoSwing compliments the player's own rhythm and dexterity to better simulate the feeling of swinging a golf club when using Swing Stick, while with 3-Click Swing, players can enjoy the enhanced simulation when using the visual queues to hit the their shot;

    Perfect Swing: Delivering the most accessible and forgiving golf experience, players can try out the all-new Perfect Swing difficulty setting, which reduces the material impact of external factors on your swing. New players can get used to the complex game of golf, making it a solid option to ease that journey, and work on their “perfect swing.” Experienced players who simply wish to enjoy a relaxing experience before jumping back into some of our more competitive modes may also find Perfect Swing is a great option;

    Major Championships: Players will be able to test themselves on three of the Major Championship tournaments for the 2025 season: the PGA Championship, U.S. Open, and the Open Championship.

        Pre-event Practice Rounds and Sponsor Events in MyCareer.

        Popularity in career mode allows you to gain VC. VC is used to buy attribute points, as well as gear and cosmetics. However, you can only use VC to get your MyPlayer up to 85 OVR, and must earn XP by playing the game to reach the 99 OVR level.

        Quest system sounds like EA quests/challenges...various daily, weekly, and seasonal tasks and checklists, including one specifically based around Tiger Woods' career. Some quests involve playing a wide range of modes (including online and TopGolf), playing rounds wearing certain brands' apparel, collecting all the different kinds of clubs, etc.

        Saw Rory McIlroy's name on the Pebble Beach Pro Am leaderboard...hasn't been used in the last few game's from both EA and 2K. Did NOT see any LPGA pros on the leaderboard.

        However, rivalries are back in some form, and I did see that you can have rivalries with the LPGA pros.

          That screenshot that showed Rivals... Brooke Henderson had T26 next to trophy logo on her picture, so I'm guessing that means LPGA players show on leaderboard.

                They have also updated their website with this section:

                Level up with expert tips and tricks from the HB Studios team. Explore PGA TOUR 2K25’s new mechanics, realistic physics, and immersive real-feel gameplay.

                New swing summed up:

                To sum up an EvoSwing shot, using Swing Stick:

                - Pull the swing stick downward to move the swing cursor toward the Backswing Target, matching the speed of the power indicator
                - When the swing cursor—and hopefully the power indicator—reaches the Backswing Target, push the swing stick up towards the Downswing Target at 3x the speed of your backswing

                  Saw Tyrell Hatton on a leaderboard. So at least one LIV golfer is still on tour.

                    Here are all the new shot types - there are a TON:

                    Tee Shots - Shots that can only be performed off of the tee.

                    Tee Shot: A full shot that is designed to get the most possible distance off the tee with the club in your hand.
                    Power Drive: A full-powered tee shot that adds extra power to the performed swing power.
                    Stinger: A full shot that is designed to launch low, climb later and lose a small amount of distance from a Full shot.
                    Choked Tee Shot: A full shot with a choked up grip to take a few yards off the carry.

                    Approach Shots - Shots designed to get as close to the target as possible, when playing off the fairway or the first cut.

                    Approach: A standard shot for approaching the green. Performed with all the clubs, except the Driver, from anywhere on the course.
                    Choked Approach: A full swing with a slightly reduced carry distance, achieved by gripping the club closer to the shaft. Performed with all the clubs, except the Driver, from anywhere on the course.
                    Pitch: A three-quarter shot that is often used when golfers find themselves inside the distance of a full swing using their shortest clubs. Performed with Short Irons and Wedges from anywhere on the course
                    Off the Deck: An unconventional and risky shot using the Driver off of the fairway.
                    Spinner: A pitch shot with added spin causing it to fly higher, land softer, and roll less. Performed with a Wedge from the Fairway or Light Rough.
                    Runner: A low-flying pitch shot with reduced spin allowing it to provide longer roll outs. Performed with Short Irons and Wedges from anywhere on the course.
                    Knock Down: A low-flying full shot with added spin allowing it to reduce roll out. Performed with Hybrids, Long Irons, and Mid Irons from the Fairway and the Rough.

                    Recovery Shots - Shots primarily taken from the rough, designed to get out of a bad situation and around obstacles.

                    Recovery: A shot with plenty of forgiveness to get you back on track. Performed with Mid Irons, Short Irons, and Wedges from the heavy rough and other challenging terrain.
                    Punch: A low-flying, reduced power shot, great for getting out of the brush and under trees. Performed with Woods, Hybrids, or Irons from any surface aside from bunkers.
                    Choked Punch: A full punch swing with a slightly reduced carry distance, achieved by gripping the club closer to the shaft. Performed with Woods, Hybrids, or Irons from any surface aside from bunkers.
                    Flop: A high-flying, short distance shot that lands soft with moderate roll. Performed with a Wedge from any surface aside from bunkers.
                    Super Flop: A flashy shot that climbs higher than it travels, landing soft with minimal roll. Performed with a Wedge from around the green.

                    Bunker Shots - Shots from the sand.

                    Splash: A standard bunker shot used to get out of a bunker safely.
                    Pick: A difficult bunker shot that produces soft landings and reduced roll outs. Performed with a Wedge from the bunker.
                    Power Pick: A fairway bunker shot with a lot of power, producing spin, loft, and controlled roll outs. Performed with Irons from fairway bunkers.
                    Blast: A very forgiving bunker shot that comes out low and runs out far. Performed with a Wedge from the bunker.

                    Shots Around the Green- Shots used during the short game, within a specified distance of the pin.

                    Putt: A standard shot performed with a putter on the green.
                    Tap In: When you’re close enough to the hole, this shot can’t miss.
                    Chip: A standard shot performed with a Mid Iron, Short Iron, or Wedge from any surface.
                    Bump n’ Run: A low-flying chip shot that lands early and rolls extensively. Performed with Mid Irons, Short Irons, or Wedges from around the green.
                    Texas Wedge: A powerful putting stroke intended for use off of the green.
                    Lag Putt: A long-range putt that sacrifices accuracy for distance forgiveness, to safely get you close to the cup.

                      Re: PGA 2K25 - Developer Diaries: MyCareer & MyPlayer Overview

                      Just noticed in the career mode setup screen that there are 3 options for how many rounds per event can be used...the first option that is shown is one round, and later, the last option shown is four rounds.

                      I wonder if that means that there is no three round option? Just something interesting to note.

                      I do really like the options of Dynamic Rounds and Interactive Simulation in MyCareer:

                      Dynamic Rounds: A section of the course is chosen for play so players can get through rounds as quickly as possible.
                      - Choose the number of holes to play—with separate options for regular events, alternate events, signature events, major events, and the FedEx-Cup Playoffs.
                      - Choose which holes to play: opening holes, closing holes, or "dynamic," which picks a different section of the course to play every round
                      - Choose whether the unplayed holes are simulated based on skill, or set to even par for the entire field (essentially skipping the hole for everyone)

                      Interactive Simulation: Players can jump in and out of a round at any point to choose exactly what holes they would like to play. Players must play at least 4 holes for these simulated rounds to count.

                      Also, from what the career mode main menu looks like, there are 34 weeks in the career mode season.

                        Man, that was a good break down. And the game looks excellent for still being on unity. Might preorder after getting paid this week.

                        Hoping at some point we get a presentation breakdown

                          Weather and Time of Day shown on the leaderboard… Afternoon and Overcast. Maybe not dynamic lighting and weather however at least, hopefully, depending on where you sit on the leaderboard you’ll play during the time of day that makes sense.

                            Looks good. Looking forward to game. Intrigued by the new Evo swing.

                            One area of concern for me are all the different shot types. Does having these unlocked shot types make the game easier (i.e. does having power pick significantly reduce sand trap penalties and increase a 70% lie to a 95% lie or something to that effect?). I don't want this game turning into EA's easy swing mode gameplay or totally throwing online competitive balance away if you don't have all yhe shots.

                            Was hoping the Rival system would have gone away but not a huge deal for me.

                            Good news is that it looks like there are still plenty of difficulty options which is my main concern with golf games. If EA golf just included more difficulty options with their swing (harder to hit straight) and a slider to make rough/sand harder that game would have been good.

                              A step up from previous info releases, that's for sure.
