Someone showed a leaked copy of the PS5 Disc on social media. Ross Symons (the developer spokesman) confirmed leak.

Game is not ready for for a full release. It's been in Early Access for almost a year on Steam and still doesn't "feel" like it's ready for the masses. At this point it feels like they're just releasing it to be done with it. I hope I'm wrong.

Gameplay from early access is definitely still quite rough, but you can definitely feel the Rugby Challenge DNA so it's not all around terrible. At least it looks like there are a lot of official licenses. Hopefully the devs will continue to work on the game after the official release.

Say what you will about Big Ant, but they do make substantive game play improvements after release, at least for a while.

Video showcasing the teams. Not sure if there will be further licenses with the day 1 patch, but this must be the most teams in a rugby game ever. Most of the big international licenses seem to be in save for the Irish national team.

Actually hilarious how we have, what looks like some absolutely obscure Pacific Island nations licensed, and beyond obscure leagues like the Bangladeshi League.

Latest video with the day one update shows that Ireland is officially licensed. Six Nations seems to have official licensing as well. Based on the France and Wales squads in the below video it looks like some squads will be up date as of this month.

Completely forgot this was even getting potentially close to a full release. I'll keep my eye on it, but my fear is it'll either be too clunky (again) or too absurdly open like the Rugby Challenge series.

I've said it before—I just wish they could take the Rugby League Live engine and adapt it to union. I'd play that for years.

Great point about the Rugby League engine. I prefer Union but that was a good looking and playing game. Didn't BIG Ant make that game too?

I never understood this either. I'm not sure exactly how this title has come together, but based on the early access it certainly feels like Rugby Challenge tech is at its heart. I'm not sure how Big Ant would have come to acquire that engine, but it seems like they have.

Rugby Challenge was always "better than nothing" for me. The vague union representation and good licenses scratched an itch. Totally agree though, it is far too open for any representation of rugby let alone union. I still don't believe there is a meaningful representation of players binding to other players to help the ball forward in open play, and rucks are far too canned.
