    PGA 2K25 OS Society

I’ve created a society as mentioned in the impressions chat, feel free to join. We’re up to 4 so far.

It’s under Operation Sports. I think there is an issue with this as I’ve accepted two members in, but it still shows them as pending. Will keep everyone posted.

I’ve accepted the following invites, but it’s not showing as active members for whatever reason:

    PSNs:

    Stugots49
    sroel908
    johnny_park
    Flightwhite_24
    MallorcaMitch
    MyMonkeyIsFunky

    Xbox: Kamackeris

supersnivy48 is confirmed in. Not sure why he’s in and not everyone else.

Thanks for that report Johnny... I'll see if I can't get in now. BTW, you know me as J Cauthen from Digital Sportspage Forum. I always enjoy playing with your ghost in our Society rounds there. BTW jb12780, my XBox name is "J Cauthen". I

UPDATE: I did manage to find the OS Society and submitted my request to join.

So we’ve got 5 confirmed in, 7 pending.

Edit: Make sure you join a second time to get in the society.

Gonna try to set something up to start this upcoming Thursday and have it go through Sunday. I was thinking 2 rounds to start off and go from there.

These are some settings I had in mind and I am open to all feedback and comments.

          Re: PGA 2K25 OS Society

Pro Am is probably a good starting point. My struggle is with the swing bias setting choice for myself in my own career mode. I went with Pro swing difficulty there, but turned the swing bias (diagonal swing path requirement) for a flat lie off. I just can't come to terms with having to execute a fade swing path to, in essence, hit the ball straight off a flat lie.

I played today's 72 hole Pro ranked tournament where the swing bias was forced on all shots and it just felt like I was being forced into doing hand stands to attempt to hit a straight shot by executing a counter-intuitive swing path. I wound up 20 over par for the 72 holes, while the leader was at -55. I feel like I'm trying to force a controller to be held at a certain degree of rotations so I can try to trace that new diagonal the game has imposed with what to my thumb still feels like I'm tracing the vertical axis. I'm thing more about maintaining that rotation than I am the other components of the golf swing. My rhythm suffers the most because if it.

I have yet to try to play a test round with the Society settings you have set, but I'll do it and give you some feedback on it. I have only played one round in Pro Am and I was maybe only three shots better using it over my non, flat lie non swing bias Pro setting on it.

I’m a 3 click guy and that’s brutal I didn’t even know that was a thing to have to go diagonal off of a flat lie. That doesn’t seem right to me.

One thing I noticed that might be holding people's applications in a pending status is this... when I submitted my membership request, it showed my status as pending. I looked later that day and I saw that not only my pending status had disappeared, but my name had disappeared along with it. I looked at the membership list from there and saw my name wasn't listed among the members.

I backed out and went back to the previous menu and hit the join button again, and this time it took me straight to membership status and I was immediately able to find my name in the membership list. What might be happening here is that people aren't realizing they have to come back after you've approved the membership request, and hit "Join" a second time. It's a bit odd the way this is sequenced.

Maybe you'll see a dip in the pending memberships if this is the case with others trying to join... it's just an odd way to structure something that pedestrian. I'm really glad that this is the worst thing I've got to complain about with this game!

I think turning off the Pro Vision could be considered, or also going to "Aim Only" on the Trajectory. I feel like Scout Cam being off kinda renders all of the Pro Vision settings outside of Trajectory moot, since they rely on being able to use Scout Cam to see how each affects where your shot lands.

I'm fine with starting on Pro Am. Personally I'd like to at least tinker with Pro at some point and see how it turns out, I know the diagonal swing is unintuitive for some but I personally love the simulated difficulty it adds. I think most of the aids being turned off will make things interesting regardless.
