blackhawksfan--are you lost? I'm used to seeing you on the MLB board; glad to have you back over here.
To answer this question:
The difference: scenarios are played through MyNBA modes, and play now rosters are played through Play Now modes.
The similarity: you can play the Magic vs Bird era in MyNBA (via scenario) as well as in Quick Play (via play now roster)
Because you could not use edited classic era rosters in 2K23, I made all my scenarios into Play Now:
Pro: you get stat overlays in-game, which is more immersive than play now games
Con: I would have to cycle through the calendar to get to the team I wanted to play, but that's a first world problem
To answer your previous question:
I know you have 2K24, but 2K25 is the way to go for what you're looking for in my opinion.
Vetmin mentioned this to you previously, but I'll go further:
I downloaded a good college scenario on 2K23, but because teams used downloaded assets for courts, uniforms, etc, that roster and rosters alike can only be used while the game is supported by the servers. 2K23 came out in 2022...after December 31, 2024, I could no longer use that roster (because of those assets). If you're not using created uniforms (I think more than 3 is the death nail) in your roster, then you can play it after the servers are down.
2K25 has scenarios converted into rosters for Play Now, and that is why I personally recommend 2K25 over 24.
I know that's a lot, but I wanted to help you out since you have contributed so much to the MLB The Show community.

PS> glad to know I've been missed on the Show boards.
