The problem is they’d be solving one problem for 1 year. After last season he’d be back pitching at some point so it’d be a waste of time. It’s easier for us to turn off him as a 2-way player for a year and then change it the next season manually (which is how I handled the issue) than having them waste time trying to solve one unique problem for one unique player for just one season.
