Pre Parch (OOTB) Eye Brow Raise Observations

I see some guys on this forum make mention of how different gameplay is pre (all those patches) and how much better the game played. This has sparked my interest and has me wanting to go out and get the physical copy to reinstall everything. Starting clean slate. I'm not an online or dynasty guy, so I don't need to worry about those features that come with updates.

I know the breaking shoe string tackle was a bit much, but what other gameplay mechanics shined brighter than this final product?

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Biggest differences for me:

    1) Elite teams overwhelm Average/Below Average teams. There is a "Talent" gap between the two and you can feel it.

    2) QB Play. Star QB's are prolific. Rarely do you see the drop back 10 yard madness. QB's attempt to make plays whether its scrambling to throw or scrambling to run.

    3) CPU running game is a problem. This falls in line sort of with #1. Talent shines in the "pre" versions. This can be seen in the running game.

    4) Passing trajectories were messed with in later patches of the game. But, the trajectories were more on point in pre versions.

    5) To add to #1 and #3, there is a wider ratings gap between players which results in the players playing different.

    6) The Adaptive AI.

This has been my experience with it. I'm currently playing on 1.0.0.9. I would highly recommend it to just give it a whirl and see if you like it.

Just how are you on 1.0.0.9? Is that the out of the box clean slate version or was that after updating?

1.0.0.5 is the base game physical copy clean version.

1.0.0.8 is the Day 1 Updated version.

1.0.0.9 is the update that came a few days later with updated player face scans but no changes to gameplay.

I have 1.0.0.8 and 1.0.0.9 saved on separate Storage Expansion cards.

so crazy question.... I have the physical disk being delivered tomorrow. When I reinstall the game.... is there a way to install just the .09 patch?

That would be a no. It will automatically download the newest one.

Unfortunately not, your have to download them and copy them to a HDD/SSD separately as they come out. I wish we could roll back.

I’m using Florida State in one of my newer dynasties and I’m in year 2028.

Miami doesn’t even appear on their schedule now. I’m not sure if a recent update caused a big error in some teams rivalries?

My bad man lol...it's actually very simple. Keeping in mind that I'm on Xbox. I have 2 Seagate Storage Expansion Cards as well as an External SSD. All I did was download the game to the console's internal drive and then copy the version I want to keep and play offline onto my Storage Expansion Card. So, I have different versions on different cards.

I pretty much do it for all of my games now. When they first come out, I'll make a copy of the early builds in case later patches mess the game up. I do it for Madden, 2k, Undisputed.

The good thing about this game, unlike some others, is that the full game is on the physical copy. So, there is no need to go online if that's the build you want to play from. So, it's a pure clean copy minus any updates.

Hello guys... wanted to provide some feedback.

I finally received my physical copy from Best Buy! 10 bucks!

i uninstalled my digital version, then went into network settings and clicked offline.

A few seconds later, all the bells and whistles off being connected went away.

I inserted the disk and installed the game. Of course, I'm asked to go online for updates and I declined that, and boom, the game takes about 45 mins to install.

I checked the version after installation, and it was on 1.0.0.5.

The digital was on version 1.0.0.89.

One quick game, and here are my findings. I checked rosters and I saw T. Hunter was 99. So I'm thinking the rosters were not affected.

Within seconds I could tell player ratings stood out. Arkansas vs Boise. Jackson is a problem. Elected edge rusher send heat to the QB on passing plays. Bronco QB struggled to hit targets consistently. How? I'd try to lead and man would the ball fly like a duck. My only successful down feild play os when the db pressed me and I was able to go over the top for a 30 yard bomb. Ball Carrier moves and AI.... dayum! I remember when they turned those.... but how sweet they look. Jeanty is a tornado....tearing stuff up. Yes bad tackle angles are back.... but what do you expect...they are kids. Mistakes are supposed to happen....unless the defense had stud players....then you will get TFL.

I like what I'm seeing!. I figured why not try this experience until 26 comes out. oh and the pretty colors they use to identify physical/mental abilities have been reset to original colors. no more purple that replaced platinum.

Any roster can be used. The only thing is if the players didn't have face scans at the time of that specific build then they will have black silhouettes instead of photos. But, that's a trade off I was willing to make to get the good gameplay!
