    The Indecisive Franchise Choosers Club

So every year I have this issue.I become indecisive on which team to use. So I like to ask others who they're using and how it's going to kind of piggy back off some ideas.
Right now I'm sitting between a few teams.
Jays, Twins, Rangers, Yankees, Braves and Diamondbacks.

Jays with the looming Vlad situation but not a huge fan of the stadium.
Twins because they need success. But they never spend. Beautiful stadium.
Rangers with the pitching prospects and Cartet/Wyatt.
Yankees I'd sit down Cole for the year and see how it goes but hate that star wars sound in the stadium.
Braves, Profar is my favorite player. But they're pretty much set to go, tough division.
Diamondbacks. Really fun team, stadiums fun (aim for the pool lol) but tough to go against my favorite team in SD.

I'd like a team that will attempt to sign a big name from time to time and not feel like I broke the realism or immersion but also want them to have a few holes to fill.
Maybe 1 power bat to just randomly swing for the fences with and a decent stadium to stare at as I typically play a game from every series so I'll be at home often.
    Why am I like this!

What teams are you guys enjoying early in the year?
Sacramento Kings San Diego Padres Dallas Cowboys Liverpool FC
Sactown Born, LA Living. Music in my ears, soccer ball at my feet.

Fear not, my friend! There are plenty of folks that struggle with this on an annual basis. I've linked the most recent thread above.

Going outside of those choices, with what you seem to be looking for, I'd suggest one of the following two teams:

-Seattle: Big bat in Julio. Great rotation (with zero depth beyond #5). Nice stadium. Solid farm with lots of pieces to potentially either develop or move to upgrade the hole-filled lineup. I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that they do spend on a big FA again...Cano was the last one that I can think of, but a potential Vladdy/JRod duo on that team next year would look really good (But as a Jays fan, SIGN HIMMMMMM YOU COWARDS!).
-Pittsburgh: Best stadium in the game. Two solid bats in Reynolds/Cruz. Lots of holes though. Tough division. Prospect pool that needs some serious work after graduating Skenes. Have never really spent money, but if they want to take advantage of having Skenes on his pre-arb contract, they're going to have to spend at some point (I just started with the Pirates).

I also don't hate the idea of running with my beloved Jays at some point. Vlad/Bo situation is a bit tough, but I think they should be a fun team to play with this year. Really one of those situations where you've gotta try to keep adding pieces by trading from a mediocre farm, knowing that next year, you're potentially losing your two best bats. The good thing about that though, is that all of the sudden you're being thrown into a rebuild, at which point you can start trying to trade off expiring pieces like Bassit, Gausman, etc. to inject some talent into the farm.

If I wasn’t doing my Dodgers franchise trying to keep the dynasty going as long as possible, my vote would be for the Angels.

You have Trout who is still rated in the high 90’s. You have young pieces like Neto and O’hoppe. Some other older bats, that could be solid if they’re having a good year. I like Jose Soriano somewhere in a rotation that you could build up.

Fun division imo and I don’t hate the uniforms.

Agreed. If Moniak and Addell can develop a little bit, to go along with Soler and Ward that OF/DH rotation could be pretty potent.

O'Hoppe and Neto are stars in the making imo, and you have Ben Joyce throwing the ball 200 mph out of the pen.

Small bit to add here, but Minnesota is brutal during day games with the shadow on the batters eye.

I played with KCR last year and dreaded my away games there. It’s so hard to pick the ball up.

I usually pick the Angels as they are my favorite team. Lineup has potential to be fun. Bullpen seems solid, problem as usual is starting pitching.

Padres, Royals, Mets are the teams I’m flirting with.

Thanks guys now I have an extra team to think about. Doesn't hurt I live 40 minutes from the stadium. Cheap tickets so I see a few Angel games a season.

This me every year I restart so many times. When ppl say franchise need new stuff I’m like no cuz I never see everything. But this year I feel like I found my team. I wanted a team that plays like the okc thunder in the nba. I’m really enjoying that franchise. So I decided for baseball the closest I can get is the Red Sox. So I’m actually in game 3 playing and I will complete my first season ever.

Im in the same boat every year as well. Always a little jealous of the guys who post here playing multiple seasons and I sometimes don’t even get through 1.

Year 1 is a grind. Once you get through it, you'll find yourself planning for the future, and falling in love with your players/prospects, and all of the sudden you'll be in year 3.

My advice-Don't try to mimic the real-life roster moves that your team makes, and don't get too trade-happy early on. Settle in and enjoy the roster that you have on day 1...identify the holes, and where you want to potentially upgrade, and then start picking away.

                    Enjoy those pesky Red Sox!

The only thing I'm not indecisive on is I know I'm going with the Mets every year as my primary franchise but picking a secondary I always have to choose from my usual suspects list. This year I chose Colorado
                      .
I have two lists. One, my usual suspects list:
Pirates, Reds, Cardinals, Cubs, Rockies, D'Backs, Giants, Orioles, Blue Jays, Tigers, Twins, White Sox, Royals, Mariners, A's, Rangers. I use to have the Indans on this list but I just can't play as the Guardians. Its too soon, maybe someday, in ten to fifteen years, the name change will grow on me. Today is not that day.

My second list is teams I will never choose. I can't be them. They are enemy mine.
Phillies, Braves, Marlins, Nationals, Yankees, Red Sox, Rays, Brewers, Guardians, Astros, Angels, Dodgers, Padres.

If we ever get custom divisions, I could tolerate the Marlins and Braves, but as long as they're in the Mets division, its a no-go non-starter. I could also go with Washington as long as I can wear only Expos uni's.

Wyatt Langford seems to be the bright spot as a Rangers fan. I'm bummed that all the other guys I should be excited about are B potential or lower (Jack Leiter). I mean is it realistic? Maybe, but someone like Evan Carter in a video game at least I should be able to turn into a star.

I ran a Twins franchise a few years ago and loved it.

That being said, the Tigers are my team; it's just... I find their stadium setting to be bland.
