It had to end eventually, but I'm glad it wasn't too an unranked team or a game where we came out flat. It was a dog fight and exactly what you'd expect Georgia V Florida to look like.
And 100% on the OT rules. I totally forgot it was that way now, I was expecting touchdowns with a forced 2PT until it came down to it. Is what it is, in hindsight I probably should have put the ball in Velasco's hands, but eh.
Exactly. I don't mind the couple of losses and it adds extra emphasis on the late games of the season that weren't there with Syracuse in the last few seasons. Plus as you said, gives us something to build towards rather than being good right out of the gate. This team is rated 90 OVR but outside of a few players it doesn't feel like it. It may be adjusting to the new sliders, but it just feels like they don't fit what I normally do yet and it shows when we hit ruts on both sides of the ball. Once I get some of "my guys" in we should start showing the SEC what we're made of.
Currently we're still 10th so we'd make the playoffs unless there were two conference winners that were lower ranked, but thats still a ways away. Huge game in the Oldest Rivalry in College Football, then Kentucky, then GTech to close out the season with another rivalry.
