View of Batter when hit HR

So it seems this year that sometimes when the batter hits a home run the camera looks directly at the batter instead of the field where the ball was hit.

Is this new? I do not care for it at all. I prefer the old view towards the field. Can I change this in the settings?

I dont mind it at all. I think it gives the pitchers perspective of giving up a HR. It feels demoralizing at times as I feel it should. They probably could have went further with it giving animations of the batter staring down the pitcher or allowing us to see the bat flip to really pull in the immersion. Thats just me though.

I’m not a fan of it but what I do like is that on all homerun cam shots, they break away and show the ball and where it lands.

I think it is horrible. It should be an option. Also the cartoon HR distance should be an option...half the time I have to wait until replay to even see where ball landed.

Also on close HRs it removes the suspense of whether the fielder caught the ball. Perhaps fun for DD or arcade mode but not for Franchise or even RTTS.

The close up means nobody is catching it. The non close up home runs means it's not a sure thing and could be caught.

I appreciate more presentation, but this one is bad. We have multiple home run views and what, one mound visit since forever?

I would still rather watch it sail over the fence

I didn’t like it at first, but now I’m a fan of it. The one when pitching is even better, but the one when hitting has grown on me.

Huge fan. I hated the batter trail cam we've had the last several years. This gives us a more theatrical look at the swing AND gives us a broadcast-like sail cam, which the previous trail cam did not.

Obviously as a broadcast presentation guy I'd like to just watch it sail over the fence but this is a nice improvement and at least gets halfway there, which is good enough for me.

Hence my point...no suspense. Some of the closeups aren't no doubters. They are just a few feet over the fence.

I'm fine with sail cam..just not a close up of player and it takes a few seconds to wonder what happened when pitching. I think the close up would be fine as a replay cam.

I would love an option to disable it. I actually don’t mind the one from behind the player as the cut to the ball really helps. Perhaps someone who speaks with the devs can request an option ?
