Jones, who has chronic foot problems, has been experiencing some pain on the bottom of his right foot. Making him worried is the fact that the symptoms are similar to the ones he felt before realizing he had a torn ligament in his left foot in June of last year.
"It's been hurting for a week," said Jones, who was replaced in Sunday's lineup by Wilson Betemit. "It's the same thing that put me in a boot for six weeks last year."
Jones will visit a foot specialist Monday and receive X-rays, which should give better indication of what is causing the pain. Whatever it is, it hasn't affected him at the plate. The veteran third baseman, who has 14 hits in his past 30 at-bats, homered in the ninth inning of Saturday night's loss to the Orioles.
"I don't know what to think, because it's not anything serious yet," Jones said. "It's progressively gotten worse." |

Better news, though, Braves lead the O's 7-3 now in the 8th. Chipper pinch-hitting...
Homerun! Guess he's not hurting
too bad.
