Yeah, I know, but the Mets are going to have more of the same from here on out. From the All Star break on, they have the easiest schedule of any team in MLB. It's just going to be so hard to make up the 12 games between now and the end of the season. I think we could possibly get it down to 6 games but any closer than that would amaze me.
In the Wild Card we are chasing teams that aren't all that good in the first place. They are going to lose a bunch of games between now and the end of the season. Cincinnatti is the current leader at five games over .500. I don't see them being at more than seven or eight games over .500 at the end of the season. I think if we can just stay hot for about a month (And hope to God that we pick up Linebrink or Wickman) we should be in a great position going down the stretch run.
