where are all the Pens fans at? lol

well i didnt expect us to be 1-1 after ywo games..

i figured an OT loss and a beat down by the Wings.. glad i was wrong..

played great against the Flyers with the exception of taking to many penalties..

the Red Wings just dominated us from start to finsih, we only had a hand full of scoring chances, if you want to call them that lol.. the dominator didnt have to make one tough save at all..

bright spot, MAF.. playing awesome against the Flyers and keeping us in the game against the Red Wings!! Penalty killing is perfect on the year.. thats from those guys playing like a team IMO.. everybody has been killing them not just 4 or 5 guys!!

next up, Jagr and the Rags on Thursday!!

Pens fan checking in....

I thought the 4-0 shut-out to start the season was great. Mostly because of the way they started last season. They just got into a hole that they could never recover from. I think it will go a long way with confidence for the season.

They looked pretty good against Detroit, but Detroit played a phenominal game. Not too disappointed with that one. The Pens aren't playoff ready yet, but hanging in there with Detroit was a good sign.

Need to start getting more shots.

Can't wait for Malkin to be ready.

Rangers tomorrow.

Pens fan from around '88 or so when my room mate in the USAF (a Pittsburgher) got this southern boy hooked on hockey. Been a huge fan ever since, thru the cup years and the low times of the last few years.

I'm very excited about this season, the Pens have a ton of young talent, with just enough cagey vets (Recchi, LeClair) to provide some leadership. I cannot wait till Malkin hits the ice (next week I hope). From the first 3 games I've seen (Thanks NHL Center Ice!), I'd like the Pens to be a litte more physical, especially clearing out the front of the net.

P.S. Great win tonight against the Rangers. Crosby with 3 seconds left for the win!

great win for the Birds tonight.. i had the Pens on one TV and the Mets on the other.. Whitney scored his first of the night and Wright doubled up a Card and i almost ran through the wall i was all pumped up lmao!!

we most def need to get our d tightened up a bit more, way to many shots against the first 2 games!! but 2-1 Pens 4 points in the Atlantic!!

wow malkin looked very good on the ice.. it was nice he scored, even though it was a garbage goal.. but thats a goal the pens dont score very often and it was nice to see.. boy this kid impressed me on the internet and live and in person even more!! sooo fluid in all his skating, stick handles etc!! should be fun watching him play!!

boo devils.. marty was just marty, made prob around 5 big saves!!

Glad to hear that he was even better in person. I watched it on Center Ice and was impressed with what I saw. I'm really excited about the future of this team. With Malkin, Crosby, Fleury, Armstrong, Whitney, Staal, etc., the future is bright for the Penguins (and hopefully it's the PITTSBURGH Penguins).

I hate that Brodeur guy! Hahaha....

Malkin looked really good, but he needs to talk with teammate Colby Armstrong. Malkin cuts from the wing into center ice too much while carrying the puck, and he's going to get killed, just like Carolina's Trevor Letowski did last week when hit by Armstrong.

Perhaps because he is a natural Center?
I think that eventually, Malkin will comandeer the 2nd line and rendezvous with Crosby on the PP. With his glass shattering shot, I could see him at the point.

His position is irrelevant. If he continues to cut regularly into the center ice area in the neutral zone while carrying the puck, someone will line him up and lay him out.

Good call on Malkin taking the point on the PP. That shot could be lethal from back there.

should be a good one, c-bus coming off a loss to the Leafs last night. they finally scored a goal after going scoreless for well over 100 mins.. Pens coming off a big OT win against the islanders..
