Darko embarrased hisself tonight with a missed DUNK, Larry Brown wouldnt have drafted this buster.

Darko aint a bust he is a never was and Detroit should have drafted Carmello or any of the top
    10 picks over Darko.

Darko hasnt scored 1 point yet, has NO toughness in the paint and he cant jump over a QUARTER.

OKUR is their future not Darko and dont say give him 3 years because this team wont be together that
long, Detroit needs to win NOW.

I told all of you Darko lovers he was a buster when I saw him play on tape but you belived the hype
like DUMARS. Darko is out picking up rims for his truck and trying to be an extra for a 50 cent
    video!

Re: Is Darko Milicic a Bust?

I wouldn't call him a bust but I would say that he's probably not being coached by the right guy. I don't want to make a big bruhaha over this but Larry Brown has consistently in his NBA coaching career (at least) to be more of a veteran's coach. He doesn't seem to want to get the young guys playing time even if they've played well enough to.

As for Darko and his abilities, he's only a kid and unlike some of the other recent European players doesn't have enough experience nor the full fundamentals for the game. This is why he's a long term prospect. If he can reach his potential he'll be a very good player in the Asociation.

I compare Darko more to the first crop of Euro players like Drazen Petrovic. Guys with lots of talent but it took them a couple or so years before they hit their stride. Darko has a strike against him in the fact that he's so young. We'll see what happens and I hope for the best.

The season started what .. last month, and he's a bust I could see if you were referring to Kwame or something, but man, let the guy get some playing time first before passing judgement.

Re: Is Darko Milicic a Bust?

if people were expecting him to be a major factor right away in his first year, then 'yes' he is a bust.

But, im pretty sure, drafting Darko was more along the lines of a long term project. Maybe in a couple of years, he may be a high profile player, but dont expect much this year, and probably not too much next year. It was definitely a gamble draftin Darko, because the current pistons team is pretty strong, and i ponder how much of a difference someone like Carmelo or Bosh would have done for the pistons opposed to Darko who gets no pt at all. Oh well, it'll be interestin to see what unfolds in the next few years with Darko.

Everything is not microwave. People want a microwave superstar out of a Euro? Be more realistic than that.
