My assumption is that it's primarily there to give you an idea of exactly when the ball is going to land. I'm also assuming that trying to trigger a user catch when in the area, or inside that circle will trigger different animations (including ones where the receiver attempts to make the play, but cannot). It's not that bad, IMO. I can deal with it. I hope they have an option to turn it off though.

Don't they have a option to take it off?

The red circle is because when controlling the reciever its impossible to know that the ball is comming. In previous games players would never know that the ball was in radius of them untill it was to late. Just like in base ball games, it helps you track the game and makes controlling your WR easier.

This is unacceptable. They can make you aware of when the ball is going to land by improving the ball physics and using a different camera. The ball should never leave the screen. I don't know who thinks that it is a good idea not to have a camera that always keeps the ball visible but it is a blunder in my opinion. Absolute game breaker. This game looks like 09 with some tweaks.
