FIFA Soccer 10 Hands-On Preview (Videogamer)

Videogamer has posted their hands-on preview of FIFA Soccer 10.

Quote:
"Defending has seen improvements over and above positioning AI. Slide tackles are now more dependent on each player's skills (good players have longer reach and are less likely to take out the oncoming attacker). Standing tackles are less forgiving too, so you won't simply be able to hold down the 'press' button to see off attackers. In an effort to mimic the kind of last ditch blocks that the best defenders make on a regular basis (even if they often use their hands - Mr Terry being the biggest offender) there's new clearance logic. The best players will be able to slide in to block shots and crosses, or perform overhead clearances."
Platform: Xbox 360 / PS3

Glad to see they're improving the Manager Mode. This game has become an annual must-buy for me.

Hmm, like to hear more about OTP and BAP modes.

Hopefully they're continuing to refine them.

Especially the options for getting into matches. Key is more options to start games more efficiently. That would mean shorter timers and also the ability to boot players BEFORE launching games.

This should make defending a lot harder. I really like the changes EA Canada has in store for FIFA 10.

Can someone please tell EA to add different sock length options(above the knee) for the created players. FIFA 10 would be infintly better if it had more of an overall customizable element to it...

I'm really excited about the MM progress and can't wait to hear what else has been done.

One thing is minor but I hope they have is the ability to see transfers in other leagues. I like seeing where players go and for how much and this was impossible to do in 09 and difficult to even see where players went in your own league. Not like it mattered since the mode was broken anyway. lol Glad to see they put time into this year.
