Willie Mays > Ted Wlliams.

Mauer is the best catcher in the game, not the best hitter, or second best. I hope I made that clear, I am really tired.
I agree my coverboy logic is off, but I was trying to make a point that Mauer is better hitter than Ichiro.

But you certainly did not make yourself clear - what you are saying is that Ichiro could hit for more power but for some odd reason he chooses not too??? Yeah that is as clear as mud.

Let me breakdown last years stas between Mauer and Ichiro.
Mauer:
BA .365
HR 28
RBI 96
OPS 1.031

Ichiro:
BA .352
HR 11
RBI 46
OPS .851

Mauer wins hands down.

Morneau doesn't touch Mauer's batting prowess. Not even close.

Give me Ichiro any day. Nine consecutive 200 hit seasons, amazing defense and speed like no other. I will take Ichiro over Mauer.
