Re: Playcalling Blog

I really don't like the new play calling screen. I liked how it was before. I don't want to have to go into "Bluff" mode in order to "bluff" my opponent. Just keep it how it was. I don't understand why they have to change stuff that wasn't an issue.

Also, no huddle in the demo was a joke. Missouri ran it, but only when convenient (not true, they always are no huddle). Also, it was incredibly fast. They would have worn out their players like heck trying to go at the pace the game had them going. No huddle doesn't necessarily mean super fast paced!! Plus, they weren't even looking to the sidelines for plays or anything. I hope this was just in the demo or else the whole no huddle offensive scheme will be a joke.

In the screen they are in trips and these are called in the playbooks that I have as:

Early Rip 61 X Choice - Early Rip 60 Go

Just cool to see the actual plays in the game. Some cool option routes available there that haven't been in during past games.
i was waiting for it too! Also did you guys see that they changed the mesh plays to where they actually curl up to get open (in a way lol)

The new play calling screen is like putting a vacum cleaner away by wraping the machine around the cord. WHY EA WHY?

i think no huddle would be better implemented by looking towards the sidelines during the play calling screen, and seeing actual substitutions jog on/off the field. it would defintely add to the realism by seeing that and force people to stay in current formations due to the play clock. other than that im loving the different playbooks this year, especially the running game!

I'm with you.

It seems like the new playcall screen was designed specifically with the no-huddle offense in mind; it's easy to quickly change formations this year, but finding one specific play is exhausting, especially because some formations have 24+ plays. (The base 4-3 defense has 40 plays -- try scrolling through that one at a time.)

They should have left an option in there to switch to last year's playcall screen.

While tedious, I can get used to it on offense because you have plenty of time but, the 10 second countdown to pick a defensive play has no delay in it prior to countdown. Way too quick. That needs to be addressed.
