I am however disappointed that 2K failed to produce a game that resembled BASKETBALL both years. Whatever their reasons, they better get it this time around. Their number one focus needs to be the fundamentals of basketball.

" Phil Jackson walking, Doc Rivers sitting"

Shouldnt this be the other way around?

Unfortunately you can't do that in NBA 2K. Basketball says to force baseline on defence. Try that on 2K and you might as well send Adam Morrison and D.J. Mbenga to the scorer's table.

Basketball says to finish a lay-up with the hand furthest from the defence. In NBA 2K the game chooses for you.

Basketball says not to pass into heavy traffic. NBA 2K encourages you to.

Basketball says to runs plays to get a high percentage shots. NBA 2K says run plays if you like taking end of shot clock desperation heaves.

Basketball says if the ball makes contact with the hand, the ball should be deflected. NBA 2K says there are exceptions to this rule.

Basketball says Shaq should never shoot a 3-pointer, ever. NBA 2K's Shaq will pop the 3 if take one step back.

Basketball says off-ball defenders should be ready to help at any time. NBA 2K help defenders come over when LeBron is already in mid-air.

I think you get my drift; NBA 2K is nothing close to basketball.

While some of your other points may be valid.. this one is completely nonsensical and utterly rediculous. Did you reread and fully understand what you just posted with this point here?

So youre telling me Shaq should NEVER, EVER be able to shoot a 3pt shot. He's a basketball player and those shots are in the context of what a basketball player can and is allowed to shoot.

Now the probability of him making them should be 1 in 500,000, because yes he has made some. But to say he should never be able to shoot a 3 pointer?

Marc Jackson would say "Comeon Tuss, youre better than that." And no I didnt take it out of context, misquote you, or not get that point. You wrote that.

As far my Czar comment, and not to make this a comparision thread. I'll use Live 10 for an example. That game was more pick up and play than 2k10. Heck it was catered for it(pu&p) with the control scheme. Why do think people only used 1 player to reek havoc with players such as Mo Williams, Bibby, Nash, and other 3pt specialist? Not saying it couldnt happen in 2k10, but it was a bit harder to do it consistantly unlike in Live 10.

I typed what I said because you said 2k basketball lacked on some basic fundamentals. 2k has a lot of basic fundamentals that they added within the years, and those vids Czar made can show you contrast between the 2 nba gamesas far as how much of it is within each game.

haha. By the way your telling the truth. 70 or 80 points in the paint is not a sim basketball game. it's just an arcade game with good animation. Please, just make the game right, 2k. That's all i have to say.

What's wrong with what I said? I said Shaq should never shoot a 3-pointer, i.e. the A.I. controlled Shaq shouldn't be taking 3s.

I disagree with the bolded paragraph. Live 10 more "pick up and play" than 2K10? Outrageous! All you have to do in 2K10 is turbo baseline with a star player and put up a shot over 3 defenders and it'll drop 75% of the time. Do the same thing in Live 10 and your success rate wouldn't exceed 55%.

Yes Live 10 has a problem with 3-point shooters being ridiculously over-effective. Aside from that the game encourages you to play with a realistic strategy. In Live 10 it's rare to shoot 60% from the field. In 2K10 if you're shooting sub-60% you’re doing something wrong. 2K10 is not basketball. It's a match to see who can score the most points in the paint. Period.
