I question why stories like this, and new plays are boasted about so much. The inclusion of this should be something to be expected.

I like it. If it's in the game, it should be in the game; however, if this feature is going to be successful, it can't be gimmicky. There can't be instances where a concussion randomly occurs on a routine tackle, that doesn't look hard at all, and you player gets a concussion, and can't return, just so EA can deliver the NFL's " Safety first" message.

Now if tackling is going to be improved to the point where we have realistic, bone- crushing, but not over the top, hits, then this feature will be great.

They could also add the risk of the defensive player getting suspended in franchise mode in they hit-stick a player and knock him out of the game. To deliver the message that the NFL doesn't condone "head hunting" they would simply not include an option to turn player suspensions off.

Sometimes, depending on the style and personality of the player, hit-sticking a player will result in a hard clean tackle, or a helmet to helmet hit which would result in a 15 yard penalty, a fine, and maybe a suspension.

Just make hit sticking players in certain situations a flaggable offense like a defenseless reciever. Also I hope concussions happens on logical plays. Not shoe string tackles.

Great addition EA. This will make the game seem more realistic. Now what needs to be done is re-invent your tackling system so that this will not be abused in this year's game. Madden needs to insert a real time physics system into its engine to make the gameplay more smooth and less scripted than it has been in previous versions. Overall this is a good idea, but if the tackling system is not changed to compliment it, this will be all for nothing.

Well given how the NFL treats concussions now, this provides added realism. If only they had a mini game where you the coach can argue or try to convince the team doctor to clear the concussed player
