I think its for the nba2k.com website, you can also link your facebook, twitter, and youtube accounts to it.

The "My2K" account will track all your stats. You will need to verify to play online after the first 24 hours. Since there are verification errors, I'm here to address those (see original post for reference).

Also, you will be able to use ANY e-mail. There was an issue with Yahoo accounts bouncing back e-mails but that is, along with all e-mails, being addressed.

I'm here to make sure you guys get your verifications.
