Seeing Hewitt hit a one handed backhand winner kinda undercuts everything he said about capturing the real life counterparts of the players. I want this game to be good, but so much points to it not being so.

Really? I see your point on the one handed backhands, but I think the players when hitting with slice use the one handed backhands. Although the slice does seem more like a flat shot.

The fun factor rules out the occasional backhands for me, kinda like baseball games that dont have all the correct stances for the players.

Yeah players use one hand when slicing, but guys like Nadal and Murray and Hewitt never use one hand for topspin/flat shots on their backhand side. That and the slice animation isn't even in this game, it animates the same way as every other shot.

I know this may seem like a small thing, and to people who don't watch these guys in real life it may be. But for me it's inexcusable. It'd be like having Tom Brady throw left handed in Madden.

Either way, you can't claim to capture the real life strokes of the players and then have something this blatantly incorrect.

Not to be overly critical, but I can't stand these companies that flat out lie. The groundstrokes, especially on the backhand side, are messed up for nearly every player. It's funny you can see them right there in the video, yet they claim it is so realistic.

Yeah! They're not capturing actual players strokes for the game. Instead, they appear to be making things up. Not good at all & has turned me off for this game. I believe I'll stick with Top Spin 4 until another tennis game comes out.

We may need to wait for Top Spin 5 for that though. I'm not giving up on Grand Slam 2 but just the video alone shows they haven't really captured real-life player strokes. Thanks!

Actually besides the 1 handed backhands (which I dont get either), the players have a lot of signature strokes. The problem is that in the demos, the people playing are hitting late and early too much. To see the arsenal of shots the players have, you need to hit with Good timing.

Hoping they can fix the 1 handed backhand issues. also you can move the players more fluidly the more you play. You want to ideally be running back to the middle a little behind the baseline after each shot or attacking the net. The people playing are standing in no mans land and moving around late so the game looks kind of weird. I can play with much better movement now and the game looks rather sweet when you are moving properly and hitting with good timing.

As an real-life tennis player and fan, I was looking forward to some competition in the tennis genre, but this game is a joke. The strokes just don't feel right, and the movement feels like it belongs in an arcade game. This is NOT the tennis simulation I was hoping for.

I knew Top Spin 4's gameplay would be hard to beat since this was the first game I played where I could apply real tennis strategies, and the rhythm of the game felt close to a live tennis match.
