I can accept that people think APF 2K8 or NFL 2K5 are pretty good animations-wise but I think people tend to suffer from selective memory when it comes to talking highly about how great they were. Remember, the backup qb is always the most popular qb

Madden has to improve the running animations (clearly) but I don't think by any means they are anything worhty of destroying the gaming experience.
Those are pretty good running animations, still see sliding, skating, zig zag running, all the things people CRUCIFY Madden about though.

I think what they mean by "speeding up the animation" is giving control back to the user sooner rather than making go speed of light. In previous editions of Madden the real problem was that the QB would take to much time to gather himself after finishing the fake with the RB, so by the time the rush would come he'd have no reaction. I think the initial animation speed will be the same but user will regain control faster.

Also worth noting they've said they have tuned reaction times so D players bite on the PA fake on a more realistic fashion.

BINGO!

As I said... The backup QB is always more popular! People choose to forget everything sub-par or in need of improvement about 2K games.

I'm personally excited to see the rest of Madden news before making up my mind about the game. So far so good imo!

This is so true. I'm sure there will be a large group of people that find a way to complain about how unreal Simms and Nantz will look but will forget about how terrible Chris Berman looked.

I'm loving the how "The Luc" looks with the new HDR lighting. It was way too dark previously.

If they can address the running animations, I'll be good to go. It was painful watching that one run with Frank Gore.

Motion blur makes this game look even better in motion.

The thing that I feel is missing from Madden's running animations is that it doesn't feel as if the player has weight to him when he plants a foot to cut. You can juke out a guy with the left stick easier than the Juke buttons, imo.
