Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD is now available on Xbox Live Arcade! Rebuilt to an HD polish by Robomodo using Neversoft’s original level models, THPS HD takes the best elements of the classic THPS games and gives them a fresh update to create an all new skateboarding experience. There is a staggering amount of content here for 1200 MS points ($15), including seven levels, eight pros, four online multiplayer modes, and the ability to share scores on Facebook. Players pursue the same global and level-specific goals as the original games, including S-K-A-T-E and many more. The soundtrack is a 50/50 combination of classic THPS tracks (including “Superman”) and new songs. DLC is coming in a few weeks for 400 MS points ($5) that will include levels from THPS3, new pros, and more.

The game is scheduled to hit PSN and PC via Steam later this summer. Exact release dates for these platforms will be announced soon.

Platform: Xbox 360 / PS3

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD Available Now For 360, Post Your Impressions Here

If anyone is on the fence, I would highly recommend not getting this game.

There are only 7 levels, with no create-a-level feature like in the old games.

There's no create-a-skater. Instead they have avatar support, but the avatars look awful in-game.

Graphical glitches are abundant. The framerate stutters a lot. There are some major collision detection issues.

The controls are terribly inaccurate if you're using the Xbox 360 controller. This series really was meant to be played on Sony's dual shock controller.

Basically, just stick to your old copies of THPS. THPS2X is still the best representation of these games, and it's backwards-compatible with the Xbox 360.

This game is great I don't know what post #1 is talking about. Other than your avatar looking bad, this game looks great, plays great. 7 levels and tons of stuff to do. If you were ever a fan of THPS at all, must buy.

I gave the trial a shot as I thought I might get it on sale later and it's just...not good. As I said in a preview topic they really needed to bring some of the stuff from the newer games in. Everything just feels awkward and clunky.

I'm seeing very mixed reviews... some have really liked the game, others, well....

I had the same thoughts as the review... "There is no way this game was this bad on the original." the controls just felt clunky and frustrating. And it did not look good at all.
