are you serious Brian Finneran, over T.O, Harrison, Fitzgerald, Calvin Johnson< Andre Johnson, Plaxico Burress when he was with pittsburgh, even though he was Slow he caught everything, Donald Driver in his prime, Jerry Rice, Issac Bruce and Tory Holt with the Greatest show on turf. Chad Johnson in his prime, Santonio Holmes, all these guys are light years ahead of Brian Finneran on the Game, WOW.

Got to be some politics going on here,

you guys don't understand about Finneran in 04... It doesn't matter that there were receivers that were rated higher, or were much faster or could run after the catch way better. He was 6'5 you sent him deep threw a bomb and user turned him around and he would catch that **** 90% of the time.

And I love how that ESPN article mentions how Finneran was unstoppable with 'rocket catch' yeah that's real funny because they didn't have rocket catch in Madden 2004..

I used to play Madden 2004 religiously, and I can tell you right now Brian Finneran was a borderline scrub.. this is an absolute joke
you're crazy.. those jetpack catch animations were ridiculous in 04. pretty much any tall player was with them though, finnernan just gets recognition because vick.

people need to stop thinking this is about the best/top rated players. it's just about madden. there was really somebody arguing against 04 vick in the qb thread. he's the only undebatable one. he's easily the best player in madden. ever.

i thought the te would be vernon davis though. i don't remember which year it was, but the year he first hit 90 speed he was unstoppable.

The ESPN article is a great find, explains why Finneran is there really.
If EA Sports opened up a "Madden" Hall of Fame, Brian Finneran would be a first-ballot inductee. "We had to change the game because of him," says Moore. "We didn't want to be known as the game Brain Finneran dominated." The thing about Finneran was, not only did the game give him insane leaping ability via the Rocket Catch, but his character was significantly taller than any DB in the game, giving Vick the ability to throw the ball high, with Finneran making the grab every time in traffic. Adds Moore: "He had 90+ jump, plus he was so tall, it didn't matter how you tried to defend it, Finneran was coming down with that ball."
So maybe this is why so many taller receivers have high 70- low 80 jump ratings now? Always intrigued me lol but man now that I think about it, Finneran (and Alge Crumpler too) seemed like money in the passing game with the Falcons back then.
