But when Sony just released their 2.1M unit figure after releasing in Australia and Europe Microsoft responded by releasing stats about game time played and number of zombies killed, not with a sales number like they previously did.

Xbox One is selling well no doubt but the PS4 is just selling very well and I thinks why we are seeing more units available sooner than expected for one console and not the other.
Excellent points. Considering PS4 has only released in 2 countries (not including the ones that go koo-koo for the Playstation) I think it's a fair assessment that the PS4 is going to do extremely well this generation.

I think both consoles are going to sell well and people will be genuinely happy with either (or both) of them.

I have to admit, I'm extremely tempted to buy a next-gen console myself.
If EA had made a new NHL or Boxing game I'd already have one.
I still wish both were backwards compatible. That would have been such an easy sale from this guy.

Looking forward to seeing some new games out soon.
I'm very interested in seeing what Destiny and Watch Dogs are going to look and play like.
Same with The Division.
