Madden NFL 15 Blog and Screenshots - War in the Trenches 2.0

EA Sports has released another Madden NFL 15 War in the Trenches 2.0 blog, which includes some new screenshots. If you missed out on the War in the Trenches 2.0 video and first blog on the subject, click here.

Quote:
Pass rush moves are contextual, and the game automatically chooses the pass rush animation based on the player and what move is best suited to the situation. Madden NFL 15 features hundreds of new pass rush animations. If the move exists in the NFL, you will see it in the game.

The moves range from rips, swims, push pulls, bull rushes, speed rushes, counter moves, clubs to everything in between. You can also steer a blocker using the left stick to hold gaps, clog up running lanes and get opposing linemen off balance to set them up for a move.

Platform: Xbox 360 / PS3 / PS4 / Xbox One

I've been critical/skeptical in the past but it really seems like this team "gets it". They are shoring up past issues and really building a foundation that is leading more to the sim side. Sure there are issues with player movement and tackle animations but its a lot of steps in the right direction.

I'm just hoping they fixed formation subs....

I'm just hoping that the players on your team that you're not controlling take advantage of all these improvements.

I'm wondering how some of these guys are getting so dirty playing on field turf. Not complaining because it still looks good, just a little odd.

They keep talking about how the jump snap mechanic makes the fake snap viable but I only see that being true if it's user v. user and the person you're playing is using a rusher. Hopefully, the CPU will start to clue in if you don't use the fake snap and start getting off the snap perfectly every time so that it forces you to use it. And if false starts are still tied to the fake snap then you could just not use fake snap and never get called for them. Not overly worried about it and we shall see soon.

Hellllllll.......YES! Loved seeing Brees step up in the pocket. Jacked for the game to come out.

Good read and I really hope the automatic contextual concepts are expanded in the future. That's the same POV many of us have been presenting for years in relation to every position and interaction, with the added element of those contextual actions being ratings and tier animation driven. The notion that just because a User obviously expects something to happen when pressing a button/using the controller, means that "something" has to be successful and defy physics/realism, seems to be going the way of the dodo, I'm glad.

Also I hope maybe as soon as next year, they expand on the "beat blocker" logic to add in various holding and clipping animations, ditto for beat defender logic for dlinemen because it would be great to see an applicable defensive holding or leg whip/tripping call in-game.

The pocket forming, which was supposed to be in M25, seems to actually be happening in M15. Like seeing that.
