why this game cant be put together with unbiased accuracy is beyond me. imagine how good this game would be if.... nevermind.
I understand how the ratings work just don't agree with them, it's entirely based off of popularity. Ratings are one of the biggest marketing tools for EA. Casual fans want to see their favorite player rated as highly as possible against their friends favorite players. Look how many articles around the web you see about Madden ratings from non traditional video game sites.

In what world is Matt Ryan not a top 10 QB?

If he's the best mobile Qb in the NFL shouldn't he be rated in the top 5 Qbs?

I know it's the preseason, but he's looked phenomenal so far this year as well.
Alex Smith had a higher YPA and same rushing TD's and more 20+ yard runs last year than Wilson so I guess he should be a top 5 QB as well? Even though both of them are above average in just about every other category. They are the same type of QB, a game manager who can on occasion make big plays. They both should be rated in the mid 80's.

The game has changed a lot since Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer won their Super Bowls.

Most overrated is Wilson not Romo.

It has and it hasn't. Both QB's won those Super Bowls because they had a dominate defense that produced lots of turnovers and the QB's themselves weren't asked to do much. That's exactly what Wilson and the Seahawks did last year. Compare all three QB's Super Bowl performance and look at what they defense did:

Trent Dilfer - 12/25, 153, 1 TD 0 INT's
BAL Defense - 5 turn overs, 1 TD

Brad Johnson - 18/34, 215, 2 TD's, 1 INT
TAM Defense - 5 turn overs, 3 TD's

Russel Wilson - 18/25, 206, 2 TD's, 0 INT's
SEA Defense - 4 turn overs, 1 TD.

Has the game really evolved that much? All three games were won because a dominant defense stopped a dominant offense.

Some of these guys never led their team to a SB but they are still considered all time great QB's. Romo for some reason is held to a much higher standard. No one likes to point out that he has had some of the worst defenses and O lines in NFL history or that he is 9th in game winning drives (3 less than Brees) among active QB's and 6th in comebacks.
Only one guy on that list never took a team to a Super Bowl (Dan Fouts), but there isn't a single guy on that list that I'd take Tony Romo over. Not even Terry Bradshaw who despite being a pretty unintelligent mistake-ridden passer, consistently found a way to make that big play in a big game when the game was on the line. Not over Marino, Tarkenton or Fouts either; even though they won nothing, their teams were consistently contenders with them at the helm.
