The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.

I know I'm in the minority but this actually intrigues me and makes me more likely to play the mode. I'm not much into MyPlayer type modes because it's not me. Me playing in the NBA (or NFL) doesn't really interest me much, honestly. An entertaining, engaging, over the top "story" would be more fun to me. Kinda like a basketball RPG. I have MyLeague for my NBA sim fix. I want to see more!
I feel the same way. Never got into the MyPlayer-type modes but this could be fun. I will certainly check it out.

I'm intrigued. I don't really care about the mode so they could have the guy that did The Notebook write it and name the main character "Audible Trembling" and I wouldn't lose any sleep. I'll step into the mode for a bit to see what's crappenin. It'll either be a hilarious sideshow or Spike will make it interesting.

I don't think 2k will pay the NCAA all of the money just to add college teens especially after that football player Payment scandal. it's the reason why there are no college games today aside from low sales

The lawsuit is completely irrelevant here. 2K could use the schools while making completely fictional players.

I dunno; I more enjoy the challenge of building a player up (without using vc) and the challenge of going to an average to poor team to see if i can make them great than playing out some story.
IMO 2k15 already had enough problems with forcing my character to be far more selfish than i would be irl, and at times acting downright unlikeable...that sort of thing doesnt work with my personality.
On the other hand if it went with more the type of deal in Fight Night Champion "story" mode, focusing on overcoming challenges to realize potential, it could be interesting.

If it is like what was in Fight Night I will be very unhappy. That game forced you along a linear path.

Hopefully 2k's story is not like that
I only mean like Fight Night Champion in terms of the general tone of the storytelling and how they portrayed the main character; i wouldn't want a totally linear mode either.

I think people hope too much when it comes to collegiate games. This is more than likely the path if you have to start as a high school standout. The current lawsuit with O'Bannon v NCAA is a big reason that 2k wouldn't even want to risk putting in college teams. Of course, I would be thrilled if somebody did.
I'm not an expert on the O'Bannon case, but I'm certain that it wouldn't have any affect on this potential move unless 2K was trying to fit in NCAA players in this, which I doubt they would if this is what they're really doing. There isn't a risk to including the NCAA's trademarks and school trademarks/jerseys/etc. the issue would be once you got to the players on the teams. Creating players too similar to the likeness of the real players on those rosters would put you in the legal crosshairs. In theory, EA and 2K could have been making NCAA games this whole time with fake players and the only thing licensed was the stadiums, teams and NCAA trademarks. It's how the pro games used to be before they started getting the player's association licenses.

Fight night champions story mode was decent, but pretty predictable and cheesy at times. Like an off brand rocky movie. But they still had legacy mode for you to make your own guy. I'd rather 2k not go down that route, story for sports games isn't really important.
