Re: FIFA 17 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

My wife had to go home from work today to be with one of our kids who got sick at school. The positive to that is having the demo ready to go when I get home from work in a few hours! I'm looking forward to it for sure!!

The "The Journey" hype video they just posted got me pretty excited for the mode. I think it'll be fun to play through!

Quick thoughts.

LT shielding is great, may possibly be op

Defending is still weird where you have to do every single thing, your players IMO are just way too passive still

CPU has an even larger collection of super effective stop/start micro jinky moves . Say hello to the proper cruyff turn because even the AI defenders love to trot this out. Hopefully this is toned down in the full game.

RB fast pass is needed more often because the CPU presses you (just wish my players did the same)

Crossing is better than 16

Game feels looser but still not as loose as the PES demo

Controls are still not very crisp

Played 2 matches and drew both but won both in PK's

forgot to add, default everything/world class

So bad...you can edit sliders in the 360 demo, not in the xbox one demo. Sigh...

One other thing, auto switching is on air balls only but it's switching on ground passes too

Re: FIFA 17 Demo Available Now, Post Your Impressions Here

First impression is it is very similar to FIFA 16. Oddly, the pitch dimensions seem smaller. Animations seem a bit faster and more responsive, and the first touch seems toned down a bit.

Visually, it's a marginal upgrade in spots. Player faces are much better, but it's not a huge leap like EA were touting.

I was a big fan of FIFA 16 so this isn't a criticism, and FIFA 17 is good, but it's nothing close to revolutionary in any respect.

EDIT: I really do like the changes to the ball physics. Just feels right, and feels more dynamic.

The teammates being really passive has always been a major problem I've had. They just never even try to go after the ball or anything. The funny thing is in "The Journey" the AI teammates DO go after the ball and defend well so it's in the game just not in the Quick Matches for some reasons.

Also, speaking of "The Journey" even though you only get to play a small part of one match I did find it very interesting. The story part may have been a gamble but I think it's going to pay off. I like that they give you the choices of how to respond so you have to decide how you're attitude is gonna be (Fiery, Cool, Balanced) and you have to watch what your manager and followers think.
