Using the brake on controller

How do I brake and accelerate without getting 100%. Everytime I tap trigger it goes to 100%. I'm not jamming on the brake, at I think I'm not.

What game and system? On ps4 I use I triggers for brake and throttle.

Can't help. On the ps4 the triggers are analog, I figure xbox would be the same. Are you using triggers for throttle/ brake?l

If you're playing Forza I would use the triggers (left for brake and right for gas) and for a little extra fine tuning Forza allows you to adjust the deadzones as well but I wouldn't worry about that too much, that's for finding that last little bit of time.
