Don't worry dude..they are over-hauling the hitting engine (finally a next-gen, momentum-based system) and skating engines, so defense should be much improved -- it wouldn't take much though!

And I hope the supposed Off & Def AI is improved...I'd love some good cycling and PPs this year.

I realize this is an early build and that you can choose the unis yourself, but I thought the NHL decided to back to the home team wearing white next season.
Also the new, more tailered, uniform will be used next year - these look more like the giant, oversized sweaters.
Sorry, just nitpicking - otherwise these look great. Hopefully they just tinker a bit with the gameplay because 07 is a great game.

EA has always looked good, it just has never come close in replicating the game of hockey. It always has been an end to end arcade game, and Im sure there are alof of fans of the series out there that enjoy the never ending end to end offensive rush. I would love to see them add some neutral zone play, some actual board play and behind the net play. I dont see it happening, but one can only hope.

I'm going to have to disagree. If you would have said this a few years ago, I would have been right there with you. However, I feel that 07 was a big step forward in getting their game closer towards the side of realism. Right out of the box, the game played a mix of both but with some slider adjustments, I was able to get the game to play almost like the real deal. Now before anyone starts blasting that we should not have to use slider adjustments, well............lol blast away but everyone has different abilities and playing styles.
