Re: All-Stars of the Franchise Program Postmortem
I think this article hits perfectly on the most crucial aspect of this program - it didn't "kill" the mode like the All Star content did last year. When Finest cards come out this year, they won't be nearly as redundant (or feel as contrived) as they did last year. They will also feel far more "special" - a feeling you want from end-game content.
SDS has nailed the "power creep" perfectly this year. The "power cards" that have come out early and mid-cycle are all more "Expensive" to attain early; which is frankly as it should be (with opportunities to get them later at much 'cheaper' cost). Jackie is a perfect example. You have him right now, you have an advantage at that position - which means that the ends justified the means (as much as they can in this type of mode). Everything else has scaled really well (and we appear to be seeing it again with the FoD program - at least based on the names associated).
I've not loved a lot of things that SDS has done this year; but they have done a terrific job with DD in this respect.
