Preseason Roster Breakdown
QB | #17 Ryan Tannehill, #7 Malik Willis [R], #19 Josh Rosen
Tannehill is the starter despite the upside of the rookie Willis. Expect a lot of Willis during the preseason to see how he does. Rosen is not likely to make the team.
HB/FB | #22 Derrick Henry, #40 Dontrell Hilliard, #25 Hasaan Haskins [R], #23 Trenton Cannon, #36 Julius Chestnut [R], #44 Tory Carter
Henry coming off of an injury looks to get back to true form. Behind him on the depth chart is a lot of unknowns. Rookies Haskins and Chestnut both hope to make an impact early on. Hilliard and Cannon look to provide depth as well. Carter is the expected starting fullback.
WR | #2 Robert Woods, #16 Treylon Burks [R], #18 Kyle Philips [R], #15 Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, #8 Cody Hollister, #13 Racey McMath
Biggest unknown on the offense. With the loss of AJ Brown the Titans hope to have a replacement in Burks. Robert Woods is the veteran of the group and looks to have a comeback performance after an injury in 2021. Expect this group to have great and not-so-great plays. The Titans could add veteran help after preseason cuts.
TE | #81 Austin Hooper, #87 Geoff Swaim, #85 Chigoziem Okonkwo [R], #86 Kevin Rader, #46 Morgan Cox
Austin Hooper is a free agent pick up that looks to provide some consistency at tight end. Coaches are really pleased with Okonkwo during training camp and could see him moving up the depth chart.
OT | #77 Taylor Lewan, #71 Dennis Daley, #79 Bryan Bulaga, #78 Nicholas Petit-Frere [R], #61 Le’Raven Clark
Lewan and newly signed Bryan Bulaga look to be the starters and anchors on the line. Rookie Petit-Frere is expected to be the backup and will hopefully be starter material soon.
OG | #73 Jamarco Jones, #55 Aaron Brewer, #64 Nate Davis, #75 Dillon Radunz
Nate Davis is expected to start on one side, but the other is open for grabs. Expect both Radunz and Jones to battle during the preseason for the role.
C | #60 Ben Jones, #62 Corey Levin
Not much to talk about here, Jones will be the starter and Levin will be the backup.
DE | #98 Jeffery Simmons, #95 DeMarcus Walker, #96 Denico Autry, #94 Da’Shawn Hand, #91 Mario Edwards Jr., #97 Kevin Strong
Simmons is quickly becoming an anchor on this defense. Expect the Titans to move him all over the line to cause as much disruption as possible. Veteran Denico Autry is expected to start opposite him.
DT | #93 Teair Tart, #90 Naquan Jones
Expect Tart to be the starter while Jones could see play sparingly. Both expected to make the team.
OLB | #48 Bud Dupree, #58 Harold Landry III, #92 Olasunkanmi Adeniyi, #52 Davion Taylor, #99 Rashad Weaver, #57 Wyatt Ray
The Titans are expecting big things out of a healthy Dupree and Landry duo this season. Recently acquired Davion Taylor looks to be a great special teams player with blinding speed for a linebacker.
MLB | #41 Zach Cunningham, #54 Blake Martinez, #51 David Long Jr., #53 Dylan Cole, #56 Monty Rice, #45 Chance Campbell [R], #42 Joseph Jones
The signing of Martinez shores up the uncertainty at the second MLB spot. A lot of depth in this position that will be fighting for likely only two roster spots.
CB | #26 Kristian Fulton, #3 Caleb Farley, #39 Terrance Mitchell, #21 Roger McCreary [R], #24 Elijah Molden, #32 Ugo Amadi, #35 Chris Jackson, #30 Tre Avery
Aside from Mitchell, no one in this group is over the age of 25. Young players that the Titans are hoping can learn on the fly and gel together. Expect a starting cast of Fulton and Farley with McCreary playing as the third CB.
S | #31 Kevin Byard, #47 Andrew Adams, #28 Joshua Kalu, #37 Amani Hooker, #20 Lonnie Johnson Jr., #33 A.J. Moore Jr.
Byard and Hooker will be the starters. Expect the other four players to fight for two backup roles.
K/P | #14 Randy Bullock, #4 Ryan Stonehouse [R]
Rookie leg Ryan Stonehouse (what a name!) looked impressive in camp.
