    AlTito's NHL 23 Sliders

    Hey everyone!

Below are the sliders I currently use in NHL 23. As always, I try to get a gameplay with a good mix of fun and realism. I will be making tweaks as I continue playing and will try to keep this post as updated as possible.

You can choose between Superstar and All-Star difficulty, depending of your skill level. Also, you should start with CPU Difficulty Adjustment at 0, but you may increase it if it becomes too easy. Finally, you can play on 6 to 8 minutes periods, with 8 minutes giving more realistic stats.

And don't be afraid to adjust things to your liking or needs, these sliders are only there as a base. Have fun!

    Re: AlTito's NHL 23 Sliders

Here we go, another season! Game feels pretty good so far with your sliders.

    Couple new things i noticed:

    1. Nice to see they now have 3 PK lines. 2 lines get pretty fatigued when you have a run of penalties

    2. They removed team strategies from manage rosters tab. I see they have strategy settings in edit lines but nothing for team strategies. Only way to change them is on the fly in-game. Maybe they want these to be dictated by the head coach as i see them in his details, just can't edit.

Yeah I’m slightly annoyed that they haven’t kept the team strategy in. To do all that during game every game is going to be so annoying.

We can still change strategies before a game, but it's now in the same screen as edit lines. For team strategies, you select Even Strength and then you will have access to Team Strategies subtab.

I don't know if there are any issues with the goalies but I have played 2 games and they ended 6-2 and 8-3. The goalies let in so many shots that they should have saved. :/

Yeah, I stumbled across that last night, however, it was all greyed out without an option to edit. Will have to check it out again. You were able to edit the strategy?

Yes, I'm able to modify them.

I see what you're saying but I was talking about changing them from the team management/manage rosters tab on the main screen so that you don't have to change them every game. A bit of a pain ro have to edit strategy every game

                  Thanks for sharing

I have a question on your Back Skating value of 70. What is the vision behind that value?

Isn't such high value going to make defensemen catch up with forwards unrealistically quicker?

It's at 70 to help CPU players to defend decently. And it doesn't look unrealistic in gameplay either. At default, CPU defensemen are stuck in mud when skating backward and you can blow by them really easily almost every time. EA lowered back skating a lot under the hood in the last few years and that doesn't translate well with how the CPU is acting on the ice. Some people have it even higher than 70 and I fully understand why.

Only played one game thus far with your sliders, but the game was far more enjoyable than what I experienced with the default sliders. Nice job!

I now understand what you were saying. I only played quick games until today, so I didn't have any problem. But after starting a Franchise, strategies are indeed greyed out in the edit lines screen, which I agree is pretty bad. It's your coach's default strategies and you can't change them.

Playing the 10 hour trial and dialed up your sliders after my first game on default was a disaster. Used Pro though as I'm not very good and I am old (senior citizen old).

Was very pleased with the game play, I did lose 3-2 in a shootout but enjoyed the game and thought it played well with the CPU taking 3 shots from the point and out shooting me 32-22 on 6 minute periods. Neither of those would have happened in last years game, at least I didn't see it.

Thanks for the sliders, I'm actually considering purchasing this game now where as before most likely not.

I didn't test the sliders directly in Be A Pro, but I don't see why they wouldn't work well in that mode too.
