Shame it is only one stadium. The Russia WC expension for FIFA had all the official stadiums.

They really killed the world cup in the game. I miss them actually making a game for it. I miss having to qualify for the tournament and than taking part in it. I can also run it back and get different scenarios. Now its just a quick mode to play. U should also be able to play online with people the whole tournament.

Really don’t get the two stadiums thing, does this mean England vs USA will be played at Wembley then, really will ruin the World Cup for authenticity.

Also worth noting, and maybe this is being refuted elsewhere, but I'm paying special attention to how carefully they worded this.

No word of authentic rosters, jerseys, national crests. Are we going to be playing with generic Brazil, Japan, Korea, etc because of licensing issues? The pool of national teams in the game is already poor. Will we be able to swap players in and out of squads to make them more WC-accurate? Will the World Cup teams that aren't in the base game be usable outside of the World Cup mode? How can the game be truly global when the entire continent of Africa has only one or two national teams in the base game?

World Cup versions of soccer games were some of my favorites over the years. Not having a full WC mode seems so bizarre yet totally spot-on with the direction sports gaming is headed. My hope is that FIFA somehow creates its own game that results in a superior option to the beyond-dated EA footy gameplay. They should be begging 2k to make this game with/for them.

Yea I really don’t trust anything they’re saying. It’s sad that I was watching that video and heard “free update” and I immediately thought “ok there’s a catch.” Last couple of World Cup implementations have been so bare and uninteresting. 2010 was truly the last WC game that had THE magic. Now it’s just a dubbed down update with no attention to authenticity and dedication

They think They're very slick but what's the use of a world cup if you can't have it a mutiplayer online playing the whole world cup vs other people online ?? Why only local ???

Fifa is so stubborn with implementing a online league or just this online world cup where i can play online with my friends..ohh snap i know why !

They want to keep as many eyes on FUT their golden cow they've been milking for so long 🤭

Pes should implement online league where multiple people can join a league just like madden online franchise or 2k myleague online but we all know they want the masses to focus on FUT that's why dont want to add a multiplayer game mode afraid they will channel people away from their money making FUT.

These monopolies are so greedy it should be PENALIZED.

I don't need this lame world cup i could swt up a custom tournament right now and play a world cup offline so what's new with this addition ??

Maybe there will be a mode where you can build more stadiums by recruiting migrants workers from nearby impoverished countries? The challenge of course being to balance the budget to remain profitable while not letting the mortality rate rise beyond a moderate level of scandal that FIFA will accept?

We should just be lucky we were around to play those 2010 and 2014 WC games when they dropped. EA has the money and the means to put out a standalone game, but why compete with your own online gambling cash cow?

What do we reckon, all of the new international teams will be available in career mode? And their players who don’t play for clubs in in-game leagues?

Hopefully it won't crash and reset club squads back to default and rename all renamed stadiums like the 18 DLC did.
