They appear to have buried some of the more interesting bits of info...it seems you can now restrict use of consumable golf balls in societies, too:


EDIT - another new surprise with this patch: no more chipping out of bunkers.

Locking out the balls is great news!
So is not being able to chip out of bunkers. That’s a big one .

Whatever "stability" they talked about in terms of MyCareer...it doesn't seem to mean that the framerate drops and stuttering during backswings and ball flight have been removed. They are still there and affect things. Ugh.

I was hoping to see a *steady* 60 FPS option, even if it meant cutting the res back to 1080p to do it. That is by far and away what this game needs most, IMO. I booted up my PC version of PGA TOUR 2K21 earlier today, and set it to 1080p, with a locked vsync of 60 Hz. FRAPS showed that the game was running at steady 60 FPS, and it definitely felt like it. It just felt sooooo much smoother and organic. How I'd love to have that experience in 2K23 on my Series X.

I guess I won't get any frame rate satisfaction until I buy the PC version of 2K23, and set the res to 1080p and the vsync to 60 Hz there either. I'm waiting for the price to drop to $39.99 like it did for 2K21 about four months into its life cycle. Also, the new crossplay feature could be enabled by then and I'd still be able to play in my favorite Society, which right bow is XBox only.... provided crossplay is an option in Society play.

Some really nice changes in the patch concerning the toggle for the ball sleeves and chipping out of the bunker. Be nice to see an option in the future to lock in a certain type of ball sleeve.

Made it in to the CC-K flight on TGC Tours. Shot +1 in the first round of the first tourny. Still trying to get my player leveled up as much as possible on PS5 before tackling the rest of the rounds. Have through Saturday to complete them.

You actually have to finish the first two rounds before 4 a.m. UTC on Thursday (which I believe is 11 p.m. eastern time on Wednesday in the U.S.) of the tournament week. There is a cut after two rounds, and if you don't finish both rounds before that time, you will receive a WD for the week and receive 2 demotion marks.
