they were a sponsor for WBC back in 2013 but no game that i remember. 2K had the license back in 2006, the last time an official video game version of the WBC was released. it's time for it to come back and the show needs to make it happen. they definitely need something to create a buzz for the next release.

Pro Yakyuu Spirits 6 is the last game to include the WBC that I'm aware of. In 2013, MLB became the primary partner, which means the rights would have to be re-issued. Prior to 2013, the IBAF was the primary sponsor and sold the rights to Konami.

My assumption is no to the WBC being added but my dream scenario is a spin-off type game. I honestly think neither happens this cycle.

There are tons of talented creators who can make The Show appear similar to a WBC game/mode but without a tournament mode, any customization in a mode that is literally called "Custom Leagues" or legitimate mods, my guess is we won't see the WBC on MLB The Show as it appears irl quite yet.

However, MLB has gotten connected to the WBC itself more since the last tournament.

I'll have 30 teams completed soon to play in franchise mode with nearly 90 players to choose from per country using all different types of player ratings.

My guess is if we see anything, it'll be through Diamond Dynasty.

Of note, the tournament will be done by the time the game is likely to be released. Could play a part in their willingness to add it to the game.

Konami's WBSC licensed game leaked a few days ago. The WBSC branding is going to given to the eBaseball: PowerPros series in a new game being released on PS4 and Switch. Gematsu revealed the news earlier this month: https://www.gematsu.com/2023/02/wbsc...itch-in-taiwan

This puts a lot of doubt on any official WBSC licensing in the MLB The Show 23.

WBC is jointly done by MLB and WBSC. So WBSC's rights going somewhere else probably wouldn't include the WBC.
