    32 Team Control Franchise

So I started an Offline 32 Team Controlled Franchise. I set everything (FA Signings/Trades, Re-signings, Injury mgmt, etc) to Auto so the computer would handle all of those things. I also turned up the injury slider to get more injuries during the season. So after my first season, the computer did not sign any free agents during the season or make any trades. I had minimum roster size set to 53 and there were several teams below that number, yet the computer did not fill the roster, even though I had Fill Roster set to On.

Is there anyway to get the computer to be more active when everything is set to Auto?

They won't be. Only way is to do single team control. It is a weakness in the game. At draft time, they won't let you go through any trade offers either. Have to do it all manually even though that is set to auto. They do sign free agents during free agency. I believe that is what they mean by free agency set to auto and that during the season it still is manual.

Thanks for your feedback! Is there any posts on OS that has trade values. For example, what round draft pick or picks for a certain player rating, age, etc?

Have you tried setting the teams to automation? In the user team selection menu in the settings.

Yes, I have it set to "Simple" which puts everything on Auto. Is there another place I need to setup automation?

I don't know of one. I think outside of OS there may be.

For me, I follow a general formula but it is more a case by case and ask would both teams make this trade.

            Here are a few examples:

If trading first round, top 10 picks: if the team trading up is less than 5 picks away, it takes their current first and next year second to move up. If 6-10 picks away, it takes this year first and next year first to trade. If 11-20, it takes this year first, second, and next year first.

Top 5 trades are different and vary but usually involve at least 2 first round picks. Again depends here.

Trading up in the second round from lower in the round takes this year second and next year second. Or this year third and next year first.

After round 2, to trade up, the trade must include, but not limited to, a pick next year 1 round higher. Example is if I went to trade into round 4, it must include at least my next year third.

These trades generally go both ways. I try not to hose the CPU by giving fair compensation. During the draft, only picks can be traded. No players.

Trading players is more fluid. I always ask, what would make this trade fair for both teams if I was controlling both.

This is not an everyone system and I am sure there are many who make their own systems or use websites for trade value, but this works for me.

Hope this gives you some ideas.

Mattanite has a great value chart in a franchise thread he made previously. If you google it it should pop up. I use it plus the Jimmy Johnson draft value charts to make trades in my CFM.
