Re: Madden NFL 23 Players Impacted by Cloud Franchise League Issues to Receive 50% Of
I am very glad that players who were directly impacted are receiving some sort of recompense. I do not know how else EA Sports can totally rebuild trust with their most dedicated players, but this gesture of goodwill is as good a starting point as any.
I am personally slightly annoyed that this 50% off voucher and beta access promise is only offered to players who were impacted by this specific issue. Personally, I basically stopped playing Madden 23 after the draft rewind glitch killed my online league in October. That loss of my player progress data entirely killed my interest in this year's game.
Moreover, anyone who has followed Madden NFL 23 post-release with any level of interest surely has experienced or otherwise knows that the server stability across the entire game and all modes has been terrible, and that instability has affected all players, not just those who were specifically impacted this past December. It's not just the 2% of leagues impacted last month with whom EA Sports has to rebuild trust.

That's a great point. My assumption here is that since EA directly told players that they can resume their franchise, leading to the corruption of their file, they felt their hands were tied since they know they can't bring those files back, and none of us want MUT packs lol. Whereas the draft glitch was for the most part a pretty widely reported issue that they were working on fixing at the time
Doesn't mean they shouldn't offer those affected by that draft bug a 50% off voucher though

honestly more than I thought they would do, I'll take the 50% discount.
my question is how do they know where to send them?
I imagine they can use game analytics to track what players attempted to log into Franchise mode on the date and time the franchise corrupting bug was active. Same way they figured out who to send the emails to.
Re: Madden NFL 23 Players Impacted by Cloud Franchise League Issues to Receive 50% Of
I'm with CM Hooe on the slightly annoyed. I've had every Madden since 94 on Sega. Which you had to save after every game or risk a freeze wiping out progress.
This year has been a nightmare. First 0 update on the live updates until it was already several weeks into the game. Then the draft bug put a pause on my franchise use and Madden use for months. Only to have this issue come up in December. First time in years I stopped playing Madden before December in a release.
So while only 2% got this, at one point or another I'd say a large majority has been impacted. Why not do right by everyone and release it at say a $40 price point, bring complete transparency to the process not just hype points and work to regain the trust of everyone. There's no way I can justify buying it at full price next year when now year after year there's at least massive launch issues.
Re: Madden NFL 23 Players Impacted by Cloud Franchise League Issues to Receive 50% Of
I feel like I should get 50% off because they never fixed that post game freeze in preseason games in Madden 22. Really everybody should get it for the quality(really lack of) over the last few years.

At least the people affected are getting some kind of acknowledgment for the mess that has occurred during the cycle of Madden 23.
My big question is, what truly incentivizes them to return for Madden 24? With all that’s happened this cycle, I’d be scared off from putting more money and time into a game that wasn’t properly cared for.

I guess I’m in the 2%
my franchise still can not be accessed

While the 2% number may be factually correct, I suspect that a whole lot of the Franchises in the 98% group are Franchises that were created and abandoned very quickly. I suspect that pretty much all of us in the 2% group are people who were actively playing their Franchise quite a bit, so it was a big time screw up against folks who were engaging with the game a lot, thus the 50% off offer to try and keep us in the fold.
I hope that the Commissioner tools include allowing the User to easily access and modify everything about the CPU controlled teams in a single player User league. If that gets added in it would have been worth it for me to lose my Franchise to bring have that in M24.
