Who will be your ‘23 Franchise Team?

We’re almost there to another year of MLB The Show.

Which team will you guys be using for your franchise this year?

Personally, I’m between the Mariners and Orioles. I’m a Braves fan so I want to get out of the NL and play against some other teams.

The Orioles have all the future pieces but are still a few years away and the AL East is no joke.

The Mariners finally got back to the postseason last year and are led by the electric J Rod. They are more playoff ready then Baltimore IMO, but still need to play well and acquire some pieces.

What about you?

I’m a Chicagoan so I usually do a Cubs or Sox franchise. But since the Cubs are decent and have money and the Sox are talented, I want a bigger challenge to start. So, here I come Colorado Rockies! Lousy team in a loaded division. That should keep me busy for a while.

Rockies should be fun. Better look for some high HR/9 and sinker ballers!

While the likelihood is incredibly strong that I will stick with my Orioles franchise in '22, I'd definitely do a Reds franchise in '23 IF I were to do a franchise for this game.

They've got a few really fun pitchers, solid-ish prospects, and a couple of fun veterans. The NL Central is fairly wide-open and a young, talented team could have a chance to break through in a couple of seasons; but there's still loads of uncertainty. Factor-in small market economics, and building and maintaining a strong team would be a challenge. The only real downside is playing in the tiny GABP.

Re: Who will be your ‘23 Franchise Team?

I've spent a LOT of time on Oakland for '22. So they're definitely not an option for '23.

I'm deciding from this group because I like to picks that either are rebuilding, or should be rebuilding, also I prefer to use an NL this year since I spent so much time in the AL this past year:

1. Rockies
2. Marlins
3. Reds (I would have never thought it was possible, but it's possible)
4. Nationals
5. Brewers

I would love to rebuild the home town Guardians, but their roster is too young and too good right now.

Actually, after looking at the farm rankings, the Athletics seem like the biggest challenge. The Rox have spent money, the A’s have none. And the AL West isn’t as strong as the NL West, but it does have the Astros and teams willing to spend.

Oakland is a great choice for a real challenge

Sent from my thoughts

The Tigers are up there too. Somehow picking top 10 every year and dead last in Farm Rankings.
