Converting Madden 08 PC to Madden 10/11 PS3

I'm trying to convert a current Madden 08 PC roster that I got from footballidiots to Madden 11 for the PS3. Problem I'm having is some of the abilities aren't transferring over which causes overalls to be very low. For example. Quarterbacks short, medium, long, etc throwing abilities are in the single digits. For running backs, the spin, juke, etc moves are also. I see this for all the positions, some specific ratings are extremely low. I believe this happens just for Madden 10 and 11. I get the roster to load with a lot of correct ratings and such. But there are quite a few that aren't. Again, I believe this is isolated to Madden 10 and 11. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I can play a game, but it's very unrealistic because so many ratings are off.

That's because Madden 08 for pc doesn't have short, medium, or long throw power. Just like it doesn't have other receiver ratings and defensive back ratings.

Yeah, I eventually figured that out. Not sure what took me so long. I was able to get a PS3 M13 updated roster from last year and convert it to 11. All ratings are accounted for. But when I try to play a game, it freezes at the loading screen. I auto adjusted the depth charts. But might have to go through each team manually and see if I can find the problem. I love Madden 11. I so badly want to play it with updated rosters though.

Typically, you can't just cut and paste rosters across different years within a game. There are some versions of PC sports games from about 2005-2008 where the games only had cosmetic changes and very little in the way of engine changes but those are very much exceptions to rules. Usually importing rosters from one game to another won't be possible or cause massive problems if you find a way. Each game really is its own entity.

you could try taking an existing roster (like my NFL 86 Madden 11 roster *cough*cough*) and open it up in the database editor (or mre 12) and edit those players into current players and then do the ratings in the game.

I finally was able to get a more current roster to work for Madden 11. Some things are off, like faces and body. But values like the names, numbers, ratings, and traits all transferred from an updated PS3 Madden 13 file I found on OS. I then exported data from it using an older version of Madden Xtreme editor. The most recent one on footballidiots would not import the tables. I got the unhandled exception errors. I proceeded to copy and paste in Excel all of the columns both games have in common. Got a little tricky because Madden 11 has an extra set of players(1008) while M13 only has the teams(1-32) and free agents(1009). Once I got everything sorted, I then used M12 Roster editor to do the depth charts(explicit). Booted M11 in RCPS3, and the roster loaded. Played exhibition to see if I would get crashes at the loading screen. None. I then used the roster to start a franchise. Preseason simmed just fine and I was able to play a week 1 game. Going to now try exporting the M11 data to M10.

False alarm. I was getting ready to play my week 2 game and the opponent had an overall of 47. I knew then some ratings didn't transfer over, which is odd because I based it on a M13 roster, which has those ratings Madden 08 doesn't have. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
