PGA Tour 2K23 Patch 1.16 Out Now

A new patch for PGA Tour 2K23 has been released today. I am downloading it on my PS4 at the moment (10.6 GB). 2K released patch notes on Discord last night:

• Tuned the point system for Ranked Matchmaking to allow for a steadier climb up the ranking tiers
• Added support for new ranked-themed cosmetics that can be unlocked through Ranked Matchmaking tier achievements
• Additional miscellaneous improvements

Word on the street is that the patch has added yellow/gold tee boxes back into the course designer.

EDIT - confirmed...I just looked in the designer, and yellow/gold is again available as a tee box color, as it was in previous 2K/TGC games.

Oh dear...multiple people are saying on Twitter that they cannot access MyCareer after they download the new patch...

And I can also say I have this problem on my PS4, too.

Good to see they are still patching and working on this game. I'm fully into the EA game at this point but I am very curious what 2k's path forward is for their golf game.

I'm guessing there will not be a new version released this year? They usually do 2 year cycles, ya?

Honestly, with all of the features, online modes and great things that 2k does better than EA (at this point), I would seriously be interested in going back to it if there was a way to adjust the tempo of the swing, to slow it down a bit. I'm fine with 2k's graphics, but after playing EA, which is a bit too slow, 2k just seems way to whipsaw fast for me. If they could introduce a way to scale down the pace of the back/down swing, I would probably be playing that as often as EA at this point.

I would assume no new game this year...they are typically on a 2-year release cycle.

If they could just move up to a different engine, Frostbite or whatever, with how developed and refined the 2k game is, course designer, etc., just improving the graphics, buildings, crowds and stuff like that would really go a long way to making it a superior game to EA's.

Just take 2k's current game and make it look as breathtaking as EA's game looks, and it's a far superior game in my eyes.
