Golden Revival: California Golden Bears Dynasty [NCAA 06 NEXT]
December 4th, 2004. Aaron Rodgers walks out of California Memorial Stadium for the final time in a Golden Bears uniform, a 41-6 dragging of a bad Stanford Cardinal team, going out with a #4 ranking and a sure to be Rose Bowl game if they could get by @Southern Miss the next week which they did, but alas, Mack Brown and the Texas Longhorns got the spot over Cal, a move that still to this day leaves a taste in Cal's fans, and even Aaron still. That was the last bit of success Cal ever had, a loss in the Holiday Bowl to Texas Tech and a 10-2 finish, Jeff Tedford was able to notch a second 10-2 two years later, but outside of that it has been nothing but medicority and downright bad from the University of California, no major bowl apperances since, of course, Cal has had its NFL caliber players since then, Desean Jackson, Jahvid Best, Keenan Allen, Jared Goff to name a couple. But no long term success, I think it's time that gets changed.

Re: Golden Revival: California Golden Bears Dynasty [NCAA 06 NEXT]
IntroductionI am going to go in completely blind with this, I have no clue what I am doing on this modded game, I've played NCAA 03,06, and 14 more then any other game series so I know how the game works just not this particular mod. I used to have an old NCAA Football 03 dynasty that I did when I was like 14-15 on here that I did for almost a year straight.
Why California?I've been watching College Football for about 10 years now, have always been very invested in the history of the sport and California has always just seemed to be such an intriguing place to try and build a program, very great team a long time ago, a consensus national championship in 1920 with one of the greatest teams in CFB history, and followed that up with 3 other national titles as well before winning a 5th in 1937. They've also been to 8 Rose Bowls... only 2 wins and haven't been since 1958, but thats besides the point. Located in a football hotbed for talent over the last 20 or so years, this team still can't bring in consistent very talented teams, always having to deal with bigger schools, UCLA, USC, Oregon and Washington are all great teams with good coaches (and lincoln riley) with name value. Compared to Cal who have none of that, but we're going to build that up in this Dynasty, I am historically not a very great recruiter in NCAA games, sometimes as a purposeful crutch as to not get extremely overpowered, which brings a lot more fun along the way because you learn to appreciate your great runs and big seasons then in dynastys where you're just OP after year 6.

Roster: 2022-23 with 2023 Big 12 Realignment, why? It was a significantly awful year for California and I think the ratings will reflect that well considering that this year seems to be an improvement for them.
The PAC-12 will also not be breaking up in this.
If you have any questions, or things you think I should mention on here that I haven't please let me know.

California Announces New Coaching Hire for 2022-23 Season.
Jim Magill - 4-22-22
When news broke of Justin Wilcox being let go of the coaching job at the University of California, fans had locked in and expected for Cal to make a big step, try and hire a big name coach to bring the team to a better level, a coach like Hugh Freeze who just led Liberty to its best season in its short history of FBS football, 10-1 during the awkward Covid year, a season capped off with a big bowl victory over big rival Coastal Carolina, or maybe a Jamey Chadwell from the afforemented Coastal, instead Cal decided to take a big swing, when this morning Jim Knowlton announced the hiring of new head coach Jed McCoy, a 27 year old who last season was the head coach for Thompson High School, the 7A state champions in the state of Alabama, this is a very big jump for the head coach, and an even bigger risk for the University of Cal, a coach with no proven track record above the high school level.
When asked about the hiring process, Knowlton explained that "We need to take these type of 'risks' as you will put out in the media, I don't feel like we are taking a risk on this, this kid is a builder, and I have all the faith in the world that given the time, with this new landscape of College Football, with the portal and NIL, I fully believe in his abilites to recruit and win games at a high level.
Coach McCoy was asked what he brings to the table that Cal has been missing in years past. "Grit, toughness and a team that I believe can execute, I'm fully aware that even though we have great players on this team currently, this is going to be a multiple year process, Rome wasn't built in one day, so I don't expect this team to be built in one day, or one season, y'all give us some time, and trust me, before long, the entire country, Kirby, Saban, Dabo, Lincoln, Harbaugh, Day, they will all know where Bear Territory is.NCAAF/NCAAB Alabama Crimson Tide

The Cal Diaries. Jed McCoy 4-24-2022.
What have I gotten myself into. I mean seriously.. It is 2:30 A.M. I have to be at the field at 4:30, practice starts at 6, I haven't met any of the team, I barely know who any of the guys are, I mean all the stress is just killing me. I have no clue what this teams M.O. is, I missed all of Spring Ball because the communication with the school during the hiring process wasn't great, this team is completely different from last years team that I actually watched. I'm sitting here venting into a stupid book when I should be trying to get some sleep, I mean the spring game is in 6 freaking days and I'm completely lost, I just need to believe in my own dern ability, I am Jed Freaking McCoy, I am better than this... right?NCAAF/NCAAB Alabama Crimson Tide

3 Days before Cal's Spring Game, now more than ever would be a great time for fans who don't scour BearsInsider on who's gonna play this year, who the expected starters are, and more.
Jack Plummer, a transfer from Purdue, is expected to come in and be the starter through the Spring and for the regular season, Plummer started 13 games over 3 seasons for Purdue, and is expected to be a spark in the passing game, filling a void left by Chase Garbers graduating.
Hunter, a Junior Wide Reciever is a 1st team Preseason PAC 12 All American is going to be the biggest target in the passing game for Plummer, he had very limited involvement in 2021, but in the games he played he performed very well, did his job, and with graduating seniors, the Junior receiver is expected to take a major step as a top player in the country.
Defense will be led by the secondary, Daniel Scott, the senior Free Safety, and Collin Gamble, the junior Cornerback will be the leaders of the defense and will be the players we expect to keep us in games when our offense falters.

Re: Golden Revival: California Golden Bears Dynasty [NCAA 06 NEXT]
Re: Golden Revival: California Golden Bears Dynasty [NCAA 06 NEXT]
It was a rough 21-7 game for both sides of the ball, Plummer and Miliner were both having trouble moving the ball through the air, or on the ground, thanks to the starting and backup defenses having 4 combined interceptions..
THE GOOD: Plummer and Hunter were able to connect through the air at times today very well when they got the chance, and backup running back Jaydn Ott played very well as well, their was only a few problems, but the problems were major.
THE BAD: Plummers accuracy was very poor today if he didn't have a clean pocket to throw from, which, he didn't have many chances to throw in a clean pocket today, Millner was able to make things happen on the ground with the second team, able to scramble with his extra quickness to extend the play and wait for receivers to get open.
THE UGLY: The starting offensive line is offensive, Plummer nor Millner were given alot of time at all to throw the ball today, the backup defense line was able to get 14 hurries on Plummer today, thank God for not being able to touch the QB right?
Obviously with the season still a few months away there is still time to get the O-Line prepped, and get Plummer more accurate under pressure, but if none of it comes together... We could be in for a world of hurt once again Berkley....NCAAF/NCAAB Alabama Crimson Tide

Re: Golden Revival: California Golden Bears Dynasty [NCAA 06 NEXT]
Re: Golden Revival: California Golden Bears Dynasty [NCAA 06 NEXT]
1. CJ Stroud - QB - Ohio State. When CJ Stroud took over as the Buckeyes QB1 last season following Justin Fields departure, nobody really doubted the young QB, I mean its Ohio State, they always nail on their QB prospects, but I don't think many expected to make the argument that Stroud could be an improvement over Fields, that is unless you are a Buckeye faithful. Early on last season the Buckeyes dropped a game to Oregon in Eugene, that fired Ohio State up who proceeded to win 9 straight games, a 11 point victory against the #20 ranked Nittany Lions in The Shoe, and a 56-7 shellacking of the #7 ranked Michigan State Spartans, before going to The Big House and losing The Game for the first time since 2011. The year was capped off with a close victory in a great game against Utah in the Rose Bowl and a trip to NY for the Heisman Ceremony for Stroud, expect this year to be a statement year for him and the Buckeyes as they open the season in Durham @North Carolina and expected superstar Drake Maye.
2. Bryce Young - QB - Alabama. If there was a word to describe Bryce Young, I think it would be magical. Bryce in one season at the University of Alabama has already staked a claim to the question of who's the most talented QB in Alabama Football history, last years Heisman winner was simply wowing fans every Saturday, racking up more awards then I have fingers last season Bryce was showing it on the field with his 47 TDs to 7 INT's and it wasn't simply because he had John Metchie III and Jameson Williams to throw the ball to, this kid is clutch, against Arkansas after giving up a 20 point comeback, Bryce comes out and puts the game on ice, against Auburn, with no timeouts and a minute to go Bryce proceeded to lead a 99 yard drive to tie the game and eventually win it in the 4th OT, and next week in the SEC Championship game came out and embarrassed the undefeated unchallenged Georgia Bulldogs on a day where many expected the biggest Tide news to be their upset of Gonzaga in shooty hoops, alas the Bulldogs got their revenge in the National Title, after Metchie got hurt in the SEC Championship, and Williams in the 2nd quarter of the National Title game, but that's the way the game goes, losing Metchie and Willams will hurt him I imagine, but this kid is a baller, expect to see him going possibly #1 next April in the NFL draft.
3. Caleb Williams - QB - USC Sorry Sooners. In last seasons Red River Shootout, down 28-7 to their hated rivals the Texas Longhorns, who were chanting the mocking line of "We Want Caleb" obviously making fun of Spencer Rattler, who was having a horrendous game, and sure enough Lincoln Riley obliged, on Williams first play from scrimmage he ran a 66 yard touchdown in to make it 28-14, and didn't stop, the true freshman ended the day 16-25 2 TDs through the air, the kid ran wild for the rest of the season, outside of 2 losses to Baylor and rival Oklahoma State in Bedlam, this kid impressed the world. And then the unbelievable happened, on November 21, 2021, Lincoln Riley announced he would be taking the head coaching job at USC, a month later, December 13, 2021, Caleb Williams announced he was entering the transfer portal, February 13, 2022, Caleb Williams announced he was going to USC, and he's got some ballers coming with him, Jordan Addison from Pitt, the best reciever in College Football last season will be joining Riley and Williams in the PAC 12, along with Oregon transfer, Travis Dye at tailback. So lets see how this works out, a talented young QB with the best molder of talented QBs in CFB should be a sight to behold.
4. Bo Nix - QB - Oregon This is the year. Bo Nix has improved so much under this new offense. He's focused. He's having fun. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a dark horse for the Heisman.NCAAF/NCAAB Alabama Crimson Tide

Week 0 Matchup Previews
As a new College Football season falls upon us, so does some huge Week Zero matchups and rivalry renewals.
1. #22 Ole Miss @ #23 Tulane
Ole Miss @ Tulane.jpg
When you think of great Ole Miss rivalries, you may thinK of the Egg Bowl, LSU, maybe Alabama? probably not Tulane though, a deep SEC rivalry gets renewed on Saturday for the 2nd year as a row as last season in Oxford LSU won 61-21, this season it's expected to be very different, Ole Miss has to travel to Louisiana, Tulane is ranked and the dynamic duo of Michael Pratt, and Tyjae Spears, who are both expected to have major seasons in the AAC conference will try to take it to Lane Kiffins explosive offensive, with Jaxson Dart, Zack Evans, and Jonathan Mingo expected to hit major holes on the ground, and through the air.
Score Prediction - 38-24 Ole Miss
2. Kansas @ Missouri - The Border War
Kansas vs. Missouri.jpg
Personally, I dont think this rivalry needs an introduction, but a historic rivalry between Kannsas and Missouri that started during the Civil War will return this weekend, as the Jayhawks travel to Faurot Field to take on their hated Tigers, when this rivalry was put on hold in 2011 it was the 2nd most played rivalry in College Football, it was never really a question if these two teams would play again but when, and on Saturday morning it's back, Jalon Daniels and new head coach Lance Leopold are making an effort together to try and revive Kansas Football, and Missouri has one of the best defenses in College Football to attempt to stifle the high flying Jayhawks. But yknow, speaking of B12 vs SEC... and rivalries getting renewed. hm, I think there's one more game...
Score Prediction: 21-17 Missouri
3. #13 Texas @ Texas A&M, The Lonestar ShowdownTexas @ Texas A&M.jpg
Its back.... Thanksgiving Day, 2011, a day well known to Aggies and Longhorns alike, Justin Tucker hits a walk off field goal to send the Aggies to the SEC, with neither side willing to budge on playing the other, the rivalry was deemed dead. Until this weekend. The Longhorns travel to Kyle Field for which will be an interesting one, for one its not on Thanksgiving, its week zero? Sometimes you need to do what needs to be done and it may not fall on its traditional weekend but I don't think anyone will necessarily care if you are a 12th man, or a lover of Bevo and Burnt Orange. Bijan Robinson and Ohio State transfer Quinn Ewers were 9 and 8 respectfully the last time this game happened, and they understand the importance, who doesnt, for 2nd year coaches at their new gigs, Jimbo Fisher and Steve Sarkisan know all about big games, Sark has coached Iron Bowls, Apple Cups, USC vs. Notre Dame, Jimbo has coached @ The Swamp, In the Orange Bowl vs Miami, but none of it may compare to what is the hottest ticket in College Football, and Saturday afternoon, we find out that it may be Longhorns v. Aggies, but at the same time, its a victory for the whole country.
Score Prediction - 31-24 AggiesNCAAF/NCAAB Alabama Crimson Tide

Zach Evans dominate day on the ground leads Ole Miss to dominate victory in the Bayou.Robinson TD .jpg
Jaylon Robinson bringing in a early touchdown to set the tone.
In a day expected to be a running back duel, Zach Evans dominated the day running for 139 yards on Tulane's mildew defense, while Jaylon Robinson, Jonathan Mingo, and Qua Davis pulled in 4 passing touchdowns from Jaxson Dart, who went down early in the 3rd quarter. While on the other side of the ball Michael Pratt was only able to go 10/29 for 129 yards, with Tyjae Spears was only effective for 19 yards on the ground, Tulane invites Vanderbilt to Louisiana for a tune up game before heading into conference play. Ole Miss will invite California to Oxford next week for a tune up game before heading into conference play aswell.NCAAF/NCAAB Alabama Crimson Tide
