It's been the same input for (and I'm not exaggerating) literal (console) generations. Since at least the PS2 generation and maybe even since the inclusion of the dualstick itself.

But it is cool that it actually has a tangible benefit in this game.

I've been doing right stick up like I always did and it works fine.

L2 brings up the coach menu where u can see wear and tear, composure, matchups, etc. If I recall correctly.

Yeah, I am about 100% its RS up, L2 is to view the stuff you mentioned.

It is right stick up. Unfortunately, I’ve only ever seen it work once for me. Similar issues were had in pretty much every NCAA game that had the feature on PS3 and up for me, so I’m guessing it’s a legacy issue with the code as to why it works sometimes and sometimes doesn’t

You can't use it while controlling a defensive lineman. It works when I do it with my linebackers and works on offense when I quiet the crowd with my QB.

It just doesn't show an animation with defensive linemen. The crowd still gets louder.

Not 100% related to this - but how do you show blitz with a button and the stick? An on screen prompt gave it to me a few nights back but haven't been able to remember since Lol
