Want to preface this by saying CFB 25 is my favorite sports game since College Hoops 2k8 and is still TONS of fun but it’s never too early to dream of what next year could look like. Here is a brain dump from the beach today
Recruiting -
- [ ] Balancing of time between recruiting and gameplanning
- [ ] Resourcing and point balances should be based on location
- [ ] Addition of recruiting earlier years of high school
- [ ] Follow ups in future seasons with recruits based on what they wanted from their recruiting days.
- [ ] NIL budgeting should be dependent on several factors such as games on TV, rankings, players getting drafted, bowl wins, etc. NIL could be done based upon a total funding and then the ability to offer players amounts of money with the sense of positioning money in one players direction or multiple
- [ ] Players profiles once on the team should show their HS rankings and the promises made. Negotiations of NIL can be done from year to year for players on the roster
Transfer Portal -
- [ ] There should be transfers especially dependent on NIL and promises made to players
- [ ] There should be more transfers and the process of convincing them not to should happen throughout the season and during the offseason. You should also be able to resign guys once they’re in the portal if you want them
Presentation -
- [ ] Add a third presentation team and have three different presentation packages and camera angles to make the games feel more authentic
- [ ] Add more depth to celebrations and the sidelines that are very active especially for a big play or celebration
- [ ] Sideline interviews and additional presentation elements similar to NFL2k5
- [ ] Depth to what else is going on around college football, especially during the conference part of the season
- [ ] At the two minute warning and timeouts, the plays end too quickly and could add cutscenes to add authenticity
- [ ] Crowd noise and excitement is overall very good but could use some improvements, especially with the difference between the quiet times and the loudest moments. More authentic endings and celebrations at the end of games
- [ ] Real time progressive lighting. This would be play to play and be timed with the accelerated clock. Progressive lighting would also be tied to game times and real sunset times for the locations of the stadiums
- [ ] Real time and dynamic weather. Games can start sunny or cloudy and switch and games with rain would have different periods of heavy v light v no rain. Same with snow. It would also be great to see fog and low clouds and different types of effects of the weather. Wind should also have an impact on the game
- [ ] It would be great to see dynamic grass stains during games based on the paint and surface degradation of the field
Gameplay
- [ ] Kicking game is so close to being great but could use an additional skill to it
- [ ] Kickoff coverage needs a rehaul
- [ ] Zone coverage improvements
- [ ] QB accuracy
- [ ] The hurry up offense needs to slow down and it needs to have offsetting pros and cons. A team running a constant hurry up offense would have stamina issues, penalties, sloppy play, etc.
Dynasty
- [ ] Real coaches and contracts that are tied to real life compensation which tie into points that can be used for recruiting and NIL. This would give incentive to move between schools but there would also be buyouts. This would create a RPG experience
- [ ] Ability to schedule neutral site games
- [ ] Ability to set times of games for schedule
- [ ] When setting a schedule, games will have a monetary value tied to NIL. For example, if you’re a small school, you will get paid to go play on the road against a big team. This makes the user balance scheduling and think of its effects
