Scenarios - I seriously hate them

Scenarios were supposed to be one of the great new things and all i find is that i hate them. the one that has seriously pissed me off is when i was Brock Purdy was getting old and past it and his arm had lost strength. now if he had thrown long distances over the season i ight understand it but i dink and dunk in west coast its yac that gets his yardage. so he lost 4 throw power and 4 deep accuracy. what total rubbish he is 26 !

i have changed his stats back. this new thing which isnt new is dumb. let alone the farce which is contracts. a certain browns qb hasnt got all his money guaranteed like real life and so they cut him in my franchise. nfl 2k5 contracts at least were logical and i still prefer their weekly training regimen to the madden version.

in my first franchise I started, it asked if my 79 ovr and 72 ovr edge rushers were in a battle? i said no, of course not. The game didn't like that lol Now I don't even click on them. I accidentaly did one in my current franchise which lead me to forcing Garrett Wilson to have 20 carries on the season, ugh....had to use the 9ers playbook with the Deebo package to knock that out.

I triggered a scenario where Terry McLaurin needs 20+ carries and 100 receptions. The carries part is gonna be tricky, I don’t think the commanders playbook has Deebo type plays

It's dumb because jet sweeps are still considered passes even though they're technically runs.

I also hate that they removed all the prior scenarios. For example, the bye week scenario is gone, I think all the weather scenarios (and I think bad weather games as well) are gone, retirement scenarios I haven't seen, and many more I don't feel like listing.

use the 49ers playbook for a few games. that's what I did. I have it set to only use a certain play twice a game but there's a few in there that you can use. Had some nice runs too.

I made a custom playbook based of the 49ers playbook last year because of the Deebo package but with the custom, it used only RBs, not WRs for those plays. I believe you have to just use the 49ers playbook to get it right.

I simply don't interact with those scenarios, press conferences, text messages by OC... First because it's often incredibly bad written, gives completely artificial challenges. And also because CPU teams don't do it, so it's not fair to get those bonuses.

I've played Madden for as long as I can remember and I've always played as an owner. Decided to play this year as a coach because of the addition of the new scenarios. In theory, yeah, it's a good idea but I find them more annoying. Plus, as Busforever points out, the CPU teams don't have these so your team is artificially inflated in comparison to the CPU teams. By the second year, you can go from rebuilding to SB contender far too easily.
Something I've also noticed is when playing as an owner, it's not only CAP space comes into consideration when resigning but also what funds you have generated as an owner. When playing as a coach, as long as you've got CAP space you've basically got unlimited funds and sign who you want.
Considering restarting a franchise as an owner and not doing any mini games to slow down the progression of the players and not having a blank check book

They're a good idea, but poorly executed.



The main issue is the AI doesn't have access to an equivalent. For the AI player development, it wouldn't even have to tie to goals. Just give a percentage chance of hitting the XP bonus, upgrade, etc.


Other issues are poor design. I've had a goal for a slot receiver that targeted my #3 WR, who was not my slot receiver. I had a scenario calling Anthony Richardson a rookie QB to be taken advantage of, but this was in year three!

Oh, man, don't get me started. I started a thread on this a while back.

The dialogue is awful and the whole thing is designed for 5 year olds. It's pathetic on every level.

I’ve never liked scenarios and always have/will play as an owner.

They just need to scrap the whole mode and give us a sandbox. I can make my own scenarios and storylines if they just allowed full customization.

It’s hard to believe how poorly implemented this is. My coach stands at the podium and says things like, “We want Joe Smith to work on run block finesse” and “We need to stop LE2 this week”

I have expect him to go up there next time and say “All your base are belong to us “

Is there an option to turn the new franchise scenarios off? I'm in year 4 and had to switch from Owner to HC due to funds but want to avoid the dumb broken scenarios as a HC. Can I just ignore them like the press conferences?

Recently got Madden and man the scenarios are as cringe as ever. They left a bad taste in my mouth and I'm only on week 2.

For starters the whole "what is the weakness of your team?" question is so unrealistic its absurd. Yes, each season its a well known tradition for coaches to freely throw certain guys under the bus that way.

I could almost stomach that for video game reasons, but then the reporter asks me what stat would be a success (cringe) and I answer. Then it says "coach promised 30 sacks" and its like ntf I didn't.

But the main reason I have a deep hatred of scenarios is because I still remember how this crap was sold to us years ago. Its not even close to what was sold, reminds me of those mobile game ads that look nothing like the games they are selling
