I plan on snapping up Phil Maton and keeping him in NY for another season. I didn't get a chance to use him in 24 with the Mets. I 'll probably take a hard look at David Robertson too.

I'm not too happy with the DH options for the Twins and with their usual injury problems I can see a fit for J.D. Martinez. And I probably would have thought about Rizzo as well, if they didn't sign Ty France recently. More out of sympathy though.

There are some good players available. In the franchise video the developers said they have changed logic so that older free agents will accept a shorter contract than was previously the case. I turn DH off so it would have to be a player who can play the field at a position I need.

Having said that I always wait until a CPU team signs a free agent because it kind of feels like cheating to snatch up free agents right away.

I'll check the attributes to see if there is a player I want and then keep an eye on transactions to see when a CPU team signs a free agent.

Really? I kind of like their DH options. You have Lewis at 3B, Correa at SS, Brooks Lee at 2B, Ty France at 1B (don't love this). Then they have Jose Miranda and Edouard Julien who can get DH at bats, as well as the versatile Willi Castro. Seems like a good situation to play platoons with guys being so versatile, not to mention guys like Buxton, Correa, and Lewis who are so injury-prone you may want to give them time at DH. It can really be used as a rotating DH all year.

I have always done this too! I let CPU make first moves.

I think they have a lot of fine contact hitters, but still lack some power besides Lewis, Correa and Wallner. I would go with Miranda as the every day 1st base man and honestly don't know yet if France will have any role at all for me. If the rest is used as a backup rotating in I could have 1 game a week where another power option would be nice, could be more when the injuries are hitting as you would expect with the team.

I wouldn't recommend using that approach this year.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I wouldnt recommend it for any version. I do limit myself to two or three free agents during the first spring training but after the first season is over, the first true and full off season, anything goes.

I don't blame you on the Ty France idea. Thought it was a weird signing for a team with guys who can already play 1B.

Can always add JD Martinez since he is a FA.
