We are monitoring and fixing issues in this thread.
Thanks for your patience.
The upgrade is complete, but you've probably noticed the forums are only showing posts up to about April 8. Posts made after that are still in the process of being moved over, and that should take another week or two. Feel free to start a new thread.
The site might feel a little slow while work continues. Engineers are staying on it through the night to get things moving faster again. Thanks for your patience.
Tons of loading issues. Will crash out, take forever to load, click buttons to reply/submit, navigate. Can't seem to find any common thread too. Disabled ad block, turned wifi off, did other tests but it's really just been a few days of the site being practically unusable.
Usually traffic can snarl a server and there are many lately.........Hmmm......The Show launching, 2k after trade rosters, quality AAA games recently releasing......I'm seeing a pattern

I blame MLB The Show, lol, who else can I blame too?
Do the recent influx of bots have anything to do with it? They popped up towards the end of 2024. Now it seems like there are more and more lurking in every forum.
I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but how is traffic an issue when the site is nowhere near as active as it once was?
Looking at the stats, the record was just more than 39K users last September. I think it bogged down then too. But right now the site is slow with just under 5K users (and that includes guests).
I was having problems, but I then realized I had been switched to "OS 4.0 Responsive." Once I switched back to "OS 2.0 Default," most of the problems disappeared.
Right now, the pages are loading a little slower, but nothing that I can't wait for.

I guess the infrastructure is showing its age. I wonder if it would help to make the forums unreadable without logging into an account, like the Supporters forum is unreadable without being a Blue Member. Let the unregistered guests read articles from the home page and such, but block the forums. Even that might not help. Just spitballing.

I've always thought about that too.
There's pros and cons obviously.
Pros being that you have less guests on the site because people aren't just able to view whatever they want without being a registered member, so it would also lead to more people signing up, and less bots if there are bots around too.
Con being that there will be less traffic which would suck too because all the clicks/views the site gets would go down and some just wouldn't even bother signing up and would go elsewhere.
