Spike Lee To Film Micheal Jordan Documentary

Spike Lee announced plans to film a documentary on basketball icon Michael Jordan earlier this week. While promoting his upcoming flick Miracle at St. Anna at the Cannes Film Festival, Lee revealed he is set to shoot a feature length documentary about Jordan. According to Variety reports, the National Basketball Association will provide financing for the project, which is being produced by Lee's 40 Acres & a Mule Filmworks. Lee told the Cannes crowd he hopes to bring Jordan and the film to next years festival. "Mike wants to come to Cannes, so hopefully we will be here next year," Lee said. The Brooklyn director and hoops star share a long history of collaborating in television commercials for Nike. Lee's project is expected to include extensive previously unseen footage captured by NBA cameras during Jordan's final two seasons in 2001-2002 and 2002-2003. As SOHH previously reported, Lee's cameras also recently followed Kobe Bryant for an ESPN films documentary project. That footage is expected to air on ABC or ESPN sometime next year. The only that I'd like to see less than an MJ documentary is a Kobe documentary. Both are pretty boring personalities with ENORMOUS EGOS.
